4-season Historic Home in Town, Million Dollar View on Leech Lake!

Beautiful historic home within Walker city limits, right on Walker Bay of Leech Lake. Blocks to Heartland and Paul Bunyan Trails, as well as the public lake access beach park and all of Walker's shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Private access to sandy lake bottom with crystal clear water that is great for swimming off the dock. Breathtaking views of the lake from almost every room of the home! Large rooms and open spaces throughout this historic charmer with original hardwood floors and fireplace facade. The main floor includes the kitchen, half bath, dining room, large living room (one pull-out bed), and den (one pull-out bed). Head upstairs for two lake-facing bedrooms, two additional bunk rooms, and the main 3/4 bath. There are multiple outdoor spaces to relax around the home, with a grilling deck, covered porch, large deck above the lake access, and a beautiful dock complete with a two-person bench, swim ladder, and bumper poles. Bring your own boat or rent one just down the street - either way, the dock is available and there's still plenty of room to safely swim when a boat is tied up! A few notes to be aware of: *The home has a mini-split air conditioner in the kitchen on the main floor, but does not have central air conditioning. The upstairs can get a bit warm on very hot summer days; however, 3 of the bedrooms have ceiling fans and 3 additional room fans are provided. We find that open windows and lake breezes make for a comfortable night's sleep. *There are 2 pull-out couches on the main floor; however, all private bathrooms and the shower are on the second level and require using the stairs. There is no shower or bathtub on the main level. *The home sits at elevation above the lake, which provides breath-taking views; however, this means there are multiple stairs down to our dock at lake-level. There are 2 landings along the way to break up your trek, and the sandy lake bottom and dock at the bottom are worth it - but something to keep in mind. *The main floor TV is a smart TV; however, the upstairs TV is not. Both TVs are connected to DVD players and there is a wide assortment of DVDs (including children's movies) available; however, we do not provide cable or satellite television.

Great view and property.

Relaxing getaway close to everything!
Quiet but accessible location - everything was within walking distance. The weather was cool otherwise we would have spent the majority of the time on the upper/lower decks! The view of the water from the main bedroom was beautiful too.

Nice Getaway
Mostly as expected, nice view. We missed some wine glasses, though.

Great Location
Overall, we had a great time at this property. Plenty of Space for the 9 of us. Location is great, within walking distance of anything in town. We even used the dock to tie up our boat and make a pit stop while we were out on the water, which was extra nice. The house has some beautiful woodwork and the furniture is comfortable. Deck chairs were comfortable. Only complaint is that it's a little bit dated. But, overall it suited our purposes, just fine.

3rd time and still has awesome as we remembered it!
Our group of seven had the best time and feel right at home at this property! The size, location, and access to Leech Lake is beyond PERFECT. We spend more time in town this year and the house being on blocks away from everything could not have been more convenient. This was our group's 3rd year staying at this house and just as amazing as we remembered it. Our group will continue to stay here each year as long as we're allowed:) It was such an amazing weekend---perfect weather, clear lake, and the view is breathtaking!!!
