Uncover a splendid oasis in the heart of Stone Town, just a short stroll from Darajani market and on the doorstep of the famous ‘kanga alley’, a fabric collectors dream shopping spot.
The recently renovated, 200-year old townhouse is located in the Mkunazini district of Stone Town.
This alternative escape features bright splashes of colour, contemporary Zanzibari design elements, five comfortable guest rooms, two modern bathrooms, a kitchen and coffee / tea bar as-well as a flowing indoor-outdoor living area with al-fresco dining spot.
Guests will have full access to all areas of the home.
The townhouse is located in the Mkunazini neighbourhood of Stone Town, in the heart of the main local shopping area, where you can find beautiful local fabrics, hand-woven baskets, curio stores, fresh produce and more.
Just around the corner from the property is the Zanzibar Coffee House, our recommended spot for wonderful Tanzanian coffee and freshly made light meals and sweet treats, with gorgeous rooftop views overlooking Stone Town. For a causal, authentic Zanzibari meal, guests can experience the famous Lukmaan Restaurant which is also in the neighbourhood.
Note: There is no street parking directly in-front of the apartment. Guests will be met at a nearby restaurant (location to be confirmed prior to your stay) which is only a short walk to the apartment building.
Stone Town is best explored on foot, tuk-tuk (auto rikshaw) or bike due to the narrow winding streets. Very few streets can be accessed by car.
There is a public parking area opposite the Darajani Bazaar, approximately a 7min walk to the townhouse (it can get quite congested after 9am). Alternatively guests can be met by the hosts assistant at a nearby restaurant (location to be confirmed prior to arrival) and escorted to the Airbnb which is also just a short stroll away from the meeting point.
