This place was clean and ready. It filled the bill. It's a small local motel in a town that needs a general magic wand for its downtown; the motel just fits right in at present. The building is an older one. There are two stories, with carpeted halls. If you want fancy decor and matching curtains and bedspreads, well, go elsewhere. For the price I couldn't beat it.
Yes, petunias in a few pots would help outside. Sprucing up the parking lot and the entry would also help with curb appeal. Stuff like that. But I was really sleepy and needed to crash and that went well.
Bathroom was clean. Surfaces throughout were clean. I got a queen bed with 2 pillows on a weekend for $67, half of the rate I paid at a convention rate in Sioux Falls an hour away the day before. Other overnighters appear to have felt the same way.
I believe that there are full-time residents here, but didn't necessarily meet them. There was noise in hall at times--the hall sounds are not muffled.
A minimal breakfast was serve-yourself in front hall...juice, milk, caffeine coffee, waffles, 2 kinds of colored kiddie cereal. Might have had bread for toast also--not sure.
I thought the t.v. in my room was not working, but it was fault of my purse sitting in front of the cable box. Figured it out and I got better free choices than in Sioux Falls.
Not sure why it's called OYO. Sign said Pipestone Hotel or just Hotel Pipestone. Can't remember.
Gal at counter was friendly and helpful and she listened.
