Everything at this hotel was very good, and, during the current emergency, the hotel was very solicitous of a paying guest from New York, (like myself) but the entire Hotel staff should be commended (by the government) for the excellent care taken to welcome and care for all the Israeli Citizens, (especially the children...) who were traumatically displaced from their homes and lives.
I wish to ESPECIALLY commend Ms. Orna Barel for all she does, treating both the paying guests like myself and the evacuees like family, paying sincere attention to everyone's needs and problems, she did not know that I was watching (obliquely, without her being aware...) how she took care of the evacuees, the children, the elderly, making them feel as though the hotel was their "home away from home", truly lessening the impact of their displacement.
In addition, I MUST mention and commend the entire culinary staff, from the senior chef down to the staff who cleared and set the tables, (I took pictures of the fantastic dishes (shakshouka, salmon, everything...) and am not done showing them to friends and co-workers here at home...
In closing, SECURITY was excellent, and the people on the doors were friendly and kept the hotel secure, but at the same time, low key, I was never feeling nervous about weaponry, either worn by hotel staff or various guests, (being a New Yorker and not accustomed to people walking around with M-16's, rather seeing them as a natural extension.
