What you can expect

Discover amazing wildlife, stunning natural scenery, and charming coastal towns on this 3-day exploration of Victoria. See the coastal sights of the Great Ocean Road, and then venture inland to see the wonders of Grampians National Park.

Day 1: Melbourne, Geelong, Great Ocean Road, Lorne, Great Otway National Park & Skenes Creek Get picked up from your hotel or Federation Square, and set out from Melbourne. Travel through vast volcanic plains, stroll the waterfront at Geelong, and then head to Torquay to begin your journey along the cliff-hugging Great Ocean Road. Observe Eastern grey kangaroos in the wild, and stop to view sites like the Memorial Arch. After a lunch break in Lorne, spot wildlife at Kennett River before heading to Great Otway National Park for a guided nature walk through cool temperate rainforest. Visit Apollo Bay, and check in to your private villa for the evening. Enjoy dinner and breathtaking views at the award-winning Chris at Beacon Point restaurant.

Day 2: Shipwreck Coast, Port Campbell, Tower Hill Game Reserve & Dunkeld After breakfast at a favorite local café, travel along the Shipwreck Coast to Castle Cove, where your guide offers insight into the region's Aboriginal and pre-historic past. Survey the famous limestone stacks of the Twelve Apostles, and pay a visit to the Loch Ard Gorge shipwreck. Eat lunch in the small fishing village of Port Campbell, and then explore the beautiful sites along the area's less-traveled section of the coastline. Next, discover the wildlife at the Tower Hill Game Reserve before driving north toward Grampians National Park. Stay and eat at the Royal Mail Hotel, an award-winner for its food and wine.

Day 3: Grampians National Park, Ballarat & Melbourne Start the day with a scenic drive along the Wonderland and Mt. William ranges into the heart of Grampians National Park. Take a series of short walks to Baroka Lookout, Reid’s Lookout and McKenzie Falls, and discover a few of the park's cultural centers. On the return journey, travel through the gold mining township of Ballarat, and make it back to Melbourne in the early evening.
