Description

Explore the breathtaking Ligurian coast on a tour of Cinque Terre, a small corner of paradise divided into five villages suspended on steep cliffs overlooking the sea; a unique landscape where vegetation and lush vineyards frame a spectacular scenery. Visit four of the five villages.

Long description: You will spend an unforgettable day discovering the most impressive Ligurian landscapes. In this area, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, earth and sea blend to create a unique landscape. The area consists of kilometres of rocky coasts with caves, beaches, hiking paths and breathtaking views. Meet our staff in Florence where the tour will begin. You’ll first reach Manarola, a tiny urban jewel characterized by Genoese style ‘case-torri’. Then you will move to Vernazza, a village overlooked by the remains of a Medieval castle with a cylindrical tower in which you can enjoy some free time. After that you will reach Monterosso, known as the ‘pearl of Cinque Terre’. This ancient fishing village with lovely beaches and lush vegetation covering the rocks will certainly astonish you. Here you’ll also get the chance to take a swim as this is the biggest village with a perfect sandy beach and crystalline water. After that you’ll enjoy the village of Riomaggiore a small village plenty of several colored houses, defined as tower - houses, developed in height on three or four floors, which follow the steep course of the stream Enjoy some free time before heading back to La Spezia where the bus will be waiting for you. Enjoy a pleasant ride back to Florence where the tour will end.

4 out of 5

2/5 Jan 31, 2020

The time spent in each location was too long, this being off-season and most shops, bars and restaurants were closed. The lunch was just not good at all. The first course of pasta was nice. The second plate was one piece of nealy raw and unseasoned perch with a few slices of dry potatoes. Tiramasu was a big blob of whipped cream and one hard cookie underneath. Really a disappointment when there is such lovely food in Italy. I would not take this tour again. And Portofino??? We never made it there as advertised.

Disappointed. We were supposed to visit five different communities and the tour guy decided that we would do four and he skipped a major sight. He told me too many steps-heck we walked over 5 miles-this is a walking tour and people need to be told this important information. Even more disappointing was the food-it was frozen food heated up, no flavor and terrible service. If that wasn’t enough-if you choose the lunch option you will not have time to visit the city. Then be ready train delays. Due to this we only really got to see 2 out of 5 places. At the end of the tour they leave you in the middle of nowhere. I would not do this tour again.
