Description

Turn Richmond into your playground during a guided history tour of the Virginian capital. Venture aboard a classic trolley and head to a series of the city's beloved landmarks, including the site where Patrick Henry delivered an influential speech, as well as edifices that date back to the Civil War.

Meet your guide near the glittering banks of the James River and climb aboard a lovingly restored trolley. With its bright-red paint and intricate wooden seats, your trolley pays homage to Richmond's original trolleys, which residents used daily during the Reconstruction era. State-of-the-art updates like an air-conditioning system and social seating make your trolley a pleasant and streamlined way to see the city.

Settle into the trolley's cushioned seats and begin your comprehensive sightseeing experience. Cruise to a series of historic landmarks in the centuries-old city, which dates back to 1737. Make an intriguing stop at St. John's Church, where Patrick Henry delivered his famous “Give me liberty, or give me death” speech at the Second Virginia Convention. Other sites of interest include relics of the first-ever electric trolley to be established in the United States and architecture from the pivotal Civil War period.

Lots of valuable info, but almost too much for 2 hours. Tour could either be a 2.5 hours or broken into 2 different themed tours. Guide was very knowledgeable about the area and passionate as about the city because he lives there.
