Description

Cross the island from the north to the south and understand its different landscapes and climates in each part. You will visit picturesque villages, observe amazing views, learn about the islands history, eat in a traditional restaurant and have a chance to swim by the sand dunes.

You will start your tour in Santa Catalina Park in Las Palmas. On the first stop you will be impressed by the views to the crater of the largest volcano of the island - Caldera de Bandama. From here we will drive to a lovely village of Santa Brígida and explore its historical center. You will also have a chance to grab a quick cup of coffee here.

Third stop will take you to the highest peak of the island called Pico de las Nieves. If the visibility is good, you will have amazing views over the mountains and maybe even to the Tenerife island. If the weather is really bad (heavy clouds, rain, strong wind) this stop would be probably changed for another interesting plan B.

Then you will drive down south to discover the dry part of the island. You will do an interesting stop in a mountain village of San Bartolomé to discover its small historical center, then we will head to a little “palm oasis” of Fataga where you can have a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant (not included, prices 5-10 euros/meal).

On the last stop you will have 45 minutes to explore the sand dunes in the south most of the island or have a quick jump to the oceans waters and drive back to Las Palmas.

5 out of 5

This was my third tour of Gran Canaria and by far the best for value and overall experience. First of all it was a small coach with 17 guests. That was far better than a typical 50+ seater. The guide chatted in 2 languages-English and Spanish-which meant he was always relevant to what we were seeing. One tour I did was four languages which meant the guide never stopped chattering and was still telling some of us what we were about to see five minutes after we’d passed it! Our guide bought us coffee and a small sandwich, ordered our lunch so time wasn’t wasted and everything ran perfectly to plan. He introduced us to leche leche coffee, which we can’t stop ordering now! Other bonuses: no hard selling of ANYTHING!!! All stories told with a smile, no attempt to gather any tips for himself or the driver. No lack of interesting facts. This really was a great day out. Thanks so much!
