Hostess/bartender at Dukes was terrible was not in post for 15 minutes only words were, we have no food. Continental breakfast was mediocre

The hotel is very close to 2 Interstate Highways and traffic is very loud. The hotel appears to house the homeless or immigrants, and a man probably with mental issues was screaming right outside the sliding glass door of our room. The employees and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They did not charge me for a small dog, when I was told that the dog would cost $25. Very much appreciated that! The beds were very comfortable and the shower was great! Did not eat the breakfast due to long lines with the 2024 State Chess Championship being held in the conference rooms. There were a lot of children staying in the hotel and they were all very friendly and respectful which was another delight! The price was very good and I did sleep pretty well overall.

The first room we checked into had pet hair all over the back and base of the arm chair. I was sneezing like crazy and then saw the pet hair. I reported it to the front desk and the person on duty immediately reassigned us! The 2nd room, just down the hall was MUCH better. The van drivers were AMAZING! We rode with Glenn, Mary, and Rudy. All three were friendly and informative about the city and sites to visit.

This place is disgusting. Pictures are doctored. I stay at A LOT of hotels and there is no way this is a 3.5 star hotel. It is a 1.5 star at best. Hallways are disgusting. Every door is completely banged up. Our first room, the toilet did not flush, the heater wouldn't shut off and there was hair all over the comforter of our bed. I had to go down to the front desk twice to be granted a room change. When we got to the new room, there was blood all over the floor and desk chair! Not a little bit of blood... A LOT! Disgusting!!! Never, ever, stay here.... EVER! WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY.

First room didn’t have bedding, second room had adjoining door that wouldn’t lock, and third room has broken lights and a very sketchy balcony with adjoining wall - if someone Nextdoor wanted to they could easily break in. Broken glass all over the parking lot from cars getting broken into. Not super safe feeling.
