Overall, my stay was great. The room was more than I expected and was perfect for my family’s needs. One of the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel.
One issue that must be addressed is the morning front desk employee. We came to the breakfast area just after 9:00 and found it empty. I went to the counter to ask if breakfast was going to be restocked. The clerk, who was sitting in a chair next to the vending machine, NOT behind the counter, said that no, it wouldn’t be, since it was “almost 10:00”.
I showed her that it was 9:15 and she insisted that it wasn’t going to be.
I remained in the breakfast area until 10:15 and observed the clerk taking her ease in the chair next to the vending machine instead of working behind the counter. Several guests checked out during this time, and she still didn’t move. Additionally, I observed other staff members restocking items in the breakfast area.
I’m sure that whatever she was doing on her personal phone was very important.
I hate that her behavior is the lasting impression I have of my wonderful stay.
I just thought that you should be aware of how your staff interacts with your guests in case you were not.
