Staff was absolutely wonderful and property was fantastic. There was plenty to do and premises were tended to. Fern Tree spa treatments were delightful. Only suggestion would be to offer more locally made food items to purchase and take home. Can’t wait to go back!

2 miles of private beach on a 400 acre compound. Excellent service with a staff that makes you feel as comfortable as home. There was always a smile. We really hated coming home

The Half Moon hotel is a wonderful step back in time that everyone should experience, especially if your everyday life is as hectic, busy and stressful as most today. Everyone at this hotel makes you feel as if you’ve just arrived at your own private club of many years and this was our first time here. It will not be our last.

Pristine, beautiful resort and beach!

Pros: Everything
Cons: I can't think of anything
Location: We only left the resort once, to visit Mystic Mountain. It was nice, but it does take up an entire day. Our guide on the bus was great.
Believe their website photos - Half Moon is spectacular and beautifully maintained. The staff is accommodating and friendly and our room was kept in pristine condition. The beach staff was wonderful, preparing lounge chairs with over-sized towels and serving refreshing smoothies, waters, and fruit skewers while you enjoy the beach. The food in each one of their restaurants was delicious - perfectly prepared and presented! An added perk - it's only a 10-15 minute drive from the airport.

This trip was a DREAM. Beach and pool and spa.

Pros: Everything: food, staff, room, beach, pool, spa. I wanted to stay another week.
Cons: My only complaint was that the room only had 2 of everything: mugs, bath robes, etc but there were 3 of us. They delivered what we needed right away.
Location: Great restaurants very close by and very close to the airport.
The staff here makes your visit a sublime experience. Friendly, accommodating, wonderful people, all of them. The pools are gorgeous and clean. The beach is divine and was mere yards from our room. Our room was spotless and roomy, even with 3 people in a junior suite. The bathroom alone is bigger than most NYC studio apartments. The food is expensive but very, very good. The spa transported us to another land filled with lemongrass scent and loving, nurturing hands working out the kinks in our shoulders. The gym is clean and all the equipment is brand new. Whatever we needed, we were only a phone call away from our requests. I can't speak about this trip highly enough.

Best. Vacation. EVER!

It was almost like being in paradise! I've been to the Bahamas...and this vacation far out classed that vacation. I did WAY more activities, but going to Jamaica beats the Bahama vacation hands down. The room my aunt and I stayed in was so unbelievable that the rest of my family had to see it. Their rooms were equally awesome, but not meaning to brag, but my aunt and I had the BEST room. I had plans of hitting the spa, doing a dolphin dive, snorkeling, horseback riding...but in the end, it was just too awesome to do anything but wallow in the sun and relax. The staff ALWAYS were so accommodating, always with a cheerful smile on their faces and a willingness to please. The only downside was the stay...it was so fantastic that it made going back to reality incredibly difficult! Truthfully, I almost cried when I left. This hotel stay far exceeded all my expectations.

Half Moon - BEST vacation ever

My husband, 3 children, and I stayed in a Deluxe Suite in the Oleander area for 5 nights in July. The deluxe suite was perfect for our family. Upstairs had a king bed in a very large bedroom with bathroom and downstairs had the living room area with kitchen and bathroom. At our request, Half Moon set up 3 twin size beds in the downstairs room and there was still plenty of room to sit on the sofa etc. Our room was close to the commissary (a full service grocery – eggs, turkey, bread, wheat thins, liquor, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, etc.), dolphin encounter, and Oleander pool. We decided to use the bikes for our transportation and the kids loved it. They even had bikes with training wheels! We had the Half Moon inclusive plan, but after visiting the commissary and looking at the food prices at the restaurants, we would consider forgoing the plan next time and eating dinner at the Half Moon restaurants and using the commissary for other meals. We’ve done all-inclusive in Mexico, and this is nothing like that generic-same food everywhere you go plan. The restaurants at Half Moon are really good with diverse menus. We thought the food was great and no complaints. Activities: I highly recommend the beach ride on horse and ask for Mark. He is fantastic and my 8 year old had the BEST day ever riding/swimming with Mark as our guide. It was so fun that our younger daughters made us promise to come back when they are each 8 years old and able to do the beach ride. The younger ones did the pony rides and had a blast. Ask for Nick – he was also fantastic. We also did the dolphin deep water and beach encounter and I think for younger ones the beach encounter was fantastic. It is a bit pricey, but dolphin encounters are pricey everywhere and one of those great bucket-list activities. Paul explained a little about the dolphins beforehand and, like all of the Half Moon staff, he was very friendly and great. At the beach we did paddle boating, sea kayaking, and snorkeling and this kept our active kiddos happy. Walking into the water at the beach is a bit rocky, so kiddos might want water shoes. We met with Carol at the Concierge desk to arrange all of the activities and she was quite helpful. Restaurants: I recommend the lamb and lobster at Sugar Mill, Curry Goat and Tiramisu at Robbie’s, and we liked everything we had at Seagrape. Derrick was our waiter several times at the Seagrape. He noticed we were dressed for a horse ride and brought the kids carrots to bring their horse/pony. This is the type of exemplary service we experienced across the facility. Our drink waitress at the non-motorized beach was Marvet and she always recommended kid friendly smoothies or drinks that my daughters loved…very attentive, great service. BONUS: if you eat at Seagrape in the early evening, Ventura photo is on sight and will take photos of you and your family. We had reservations for 7 pm and Leroy hooked us up with the best family photo with beach and sunset in background for $10! We really loved Half Moon and look forward to returning!

ROYALTY like a PRINCESS Treatment!!

I super THANK the staffs of Half Moon resort.  This place is awesome!! I feel so good and relax here. The service is the BEST of the BEST, and I feel like a PRINCESS!  I picked the BEST choice in staying in this awesome resort.  It's worth the money and wish to visit this place again someday!! I super THANK "Camille" at the reception desk for the "Hibiscus Suite" room which is super CLEAN and with 4-maids!! Wow!! I never had that before!!! You are the BEST Camille for taking care of me.  I thank "OMAR" at the Hibiscus Suite area who takes care of the Beach.  I thank ROHAN at the olympic size swimming, who takes care in that area...I thank STEPHEN and LISA at the Seagrape Restaurant and the bell men are wonderful. You guys are the BEST staffs!! You make my vacation special!! The place is super, duper clean!! I love it!! Thanks for the Royalty service!!!

Customer service is top priority at Half Moon, Jamaica

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, delicious food
Cons: No free Internet
Half Moon is a top-notch resort with friendly well trained staff, beautiful location, and customer service as a top priority. The staff - whether concierge or room service - answers the phone with the question "How can I help?" This sums up my experience.

Excellent Resort but very overpriced!!!

Pros: Quiet
Cons: expensive, overpriced, boring
This is a first class resort in beauty, service and fine food. The only flaw is how overpriced the menu is and the price of drinks is ridiculous. For two adults you can expect to pay $400 per day for food and alcohol. That is not acceptable. When you pay however the food is exceptional. Layers of flavor in everything. The waves were so high this past week that we could not use any of the water sports which was a huge disappointment. The main pools were very cold and we could not swim in them. The beach is long but only a very small area for swimming because of sea urchins. We were two women traveling together and we were treated much differently than the man-woman couples. We were always served second. On your bill, tipping of 15% is automatic on every purchase. When the prices are this high then you are paying $40 in tax and $60 in tips for $400 in food and alcohol. Unacceptable! This is a very quiet resort and if you are looking for music, nightlife, etc. then this is not the place for you.
