I loved the lush jungle-like foliage, the exotic flowers & the sound of birds chirping all around.
The property was perched high on a hill & looked out over the town of Isabella II & it felt remote & peaceful. The hosts, Penny & Kelly, were great. I have never known a host such as Penny, who sat down with you & tried to help you figure out the options for things to do & places to see in the area. We followed several of her suggestions for restaurants, which were wonderful(Coqui Fire, Mar Azul), & the visit to the museum nearby was very sobering & impactful & informative about the military
training that the American government did in Vieques, forcing people off of their land.
The hotel had horses & offered horseback riding all around , including on the beach. We were planning to go but it had rained heavily just before , so we thought it might be slippery & did not. Would like to come back again & do that. The hotel also offered a free breakfast,
including bagels, croissants & muffins, fruit & cheese , & coffee. It was perfect. We want to return!
