When you really need a room...

Pros: Close to the Central Amsterdam Train Station
Cons: Nothing. It is what it is
Location: Coffee houses, restaurants, in the canal zone.
I was here for one Friday night in early May, 2015. The place I had been staying out in the museum district did not have availability so I grabbed what was available. Checking in, the staff was helpful, spoke English as a first language, and directed me to my room. Remember that in Europe, Floor 1 is one floor up from ground level. I put on my backpack and headed up the steep stairs to the fourth floor as there apparently was no elevator. The $150/nt room (if you prepay) was 6 x 9 feet with a single bed and a sink. The bathroom was at the end of the hallway and the shower was one floor down and was shared. There was a nice big window which I opened. There was a picture on the wall, which was good. There was really nothing wrong with the room, it was was it was, and I would stay there again in a pinch.
