Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Butte, a city at 6,000 feet in the mountains of southwestern Montana, is known for its boomtown past—at one time it was the largest city in the Rockies—and today's tourists continue to enjoy its wealth of interesting landmarks and attractions. Flights to Butte, which land at Bert Mooney Airport (BTM), bring you to this all-American city, which among other claims to fame has the largest National Historic Landmark District in the United States. Butte vacation packages are also a great choice if you're seeking outdoor adventures on the region's rivers, trails, and ski slopes.
You can reach most Butte hotels within a 10- to 20-minute drive of BTM. Four rental car companies operate at the airport, and car rental is likely the most convenient option if you plan to visit attractions outside of Butte, such as renowned trout fishing spots, ski areas, and top golf courses. The airport is served by one taxi company, which offers transportation 24 hours a day. Passengers coming off Butte flights can also use the local Butte Bus to get to Historic Uptown Butte, the main shopping and dining district of the city. Wait at the bus stop at Harrison Avenue and Motor View Road, directly opposite the airport, to hop on the Harrison Route. Exact change is required for the fare. However you decide to make your way from BTM to your destination in Butte, look out the window and see some of the 14 headframes along the skyline. These historic structures are the above-ground remnants of more than 10,000 miles of abandoned tunnels and mine shafts under the city's streets. Other attractions include the Copper King Mansion and Charles Clark Chateau Mansion, the elaborate homes of wealthy copper barons that are among some 6,000 historic properties you'll see throughout the city.
Let Travelocity help you find cheap flights to Butte and discover this Montana mountain town that's cosmopolitan and rugged at the same time. Already on the go? Get mobile exclusive deals on the Travelocity app.
