Flight Review

Jan 23, 2020

Second time I have flown with Qatar Air and looking forward to more flights

Jan 1, 2020

Seats are getting tighter and tighter in width. Unpleasant when sitting next to anybody you are not related to and even then it is only tolerable for a short time.

One of my best flights ever! Clearly I need to fly Business class more often.

Sep 8, 2019

Oman Air is the best option to the Middle East. Hands down.

Jul 18, 2018

Yes....there were no earphones for the economy sector, thus...we had no entertainment...no movies, no music, etc. That sucks!!!!

I travel long distance - Muscat to England return journey and am in my mid sixties so don't have the stamina I once had. I always try to travel KLM. I find the ground staff and cabin attendants to be highly efficient, helpful and friendly. Flights are usually on time and yesterday's touch down in Muscat was early (May 13th flight KLM421). I particularly like Schiphol Airport...clean, efficient and easy to navigate. 10 out of 10 KLM from this experienced traveler.

What airport is best to fly into Muscat?

Places to visit in Muscat

If you are near Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque during the hours of prayer, you'll be absorbed by an enriching experience unlike any other. Need some more ideas? It doesn't matter if you want to shop for fun, or perhaps just grab the necessities, you'll experience some fine retail therapy at Avenues Mall. But that's not all there is. Sports fans should head to Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex to see a match.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Muscat

If you like the thought of spending more time at the airport restaurants and less time wading through security on your way to Muscat, follow these helpful tips:

  • Have your travel ID and boarding pass somewhere handy. They'll be the first things you'll be told to produce by airport security.
  • USB sticks, wallets and mobile phones are to be placed in a bin for X-raying. If you enter the body scanner with these items, you'll be asked to turn back and remove them.
  • Laptops need to be removed from their protective carriers and placed in a tray prior to being X-rayed.
  • Flying with your favorite perfume or cologne? As long as it contains no more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's stored in a clear zip-lock bag, you can keep it in your carry-on luggage.
  • Loosen your shoelaces before entering the body scanner. Depending on the sort of shoes you've got on, security may tell you to take them off.
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Check with your carrier's official website to learn about what is not allowed on board their flights.

Flights To Muscat

Watch the sun glint off the sand and water as you fly into the capital of Oman, Muscat. This Arabian city announces its heritage with building codes that require domes and arabesque windows. Muscat flights open the door to the Middle East, with traditional souqs selling local wares and historic forts looming in the distance. In sharp contrast to the historic architecture of the city, Muscat International Airport (MCT) is distinctly modern, so clearing customs and picking up your luggage is usually quick and easy. Enjoy exploring a city that seamlessly blends modern comfort with an old-world look and feel.

Transportation From MCT

Book one of the many cheap hotels in Muscat and arrange for pickup at the airport. After a long flight, catching on of the courtesy buses will give you a chance to recharge during the 20 mile trip from the airport to the city. If your hotel doesn't offer shuttle service, there are car rental options right at the airport. If you intend to travel outside of the urban area, a car rental is ideal, as there is little transportation outside the city. If city life is more your style, taxis offer unbeatable convenience. You can pre-book a cab online or via telephone, all at a flat rate to and from the airport. In the city, maxi taxis, or biassa buses, offer an inexpensive way to travel; just be sure to haggle about prices before boarding. Finding cheap flights to Muscat and using public transport helps make vacations in Muscat fun and budget friendly.
