Pictures on this site are really outdated. Has not been fixed since Hurricane 2 years ago. Restaurant closed, no watersports on site, pool closed. The mattress was horrible. Power went out after rain storm and we had no AC, water for 12+ hours. All of our food in mini fridge spoiled. One of the front desk staff was just plain rude and couldn't be bothered with helping us.

I loved that we had to take a ferry out to the island; it made it seem even more exotic, and it gave us a fantastic view! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was cozy! I would definitely stay here again.

Great view. Some scattered junk in the back made it look a little too rustic. The empty water fountain at the entrance made it look run down. Loved the ferry boat ride and service

Perfect location

Still needs major renovations/repair from hurricane. A bit disappointing if judging from online pics. Hotel is a true Caribbean gem & needs some serious TLC so it can be in its glory!

staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach on the cay was ideal for families. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet most of the time. When it was not quiet I only wish I had been invited to the party. Though hurricane Irma repairs are not complete I will stay at HOTC on all future trips to STX.

Perfect vacation

Pros: Location..location..location! Easy access to beach and the board walk.. The beach was very nice...clean..easy to enter water..nice chairs.
Cons: There is a outdoor foot wash but we would have liked a overhead shower to rinse the salt water off before entering the pool.
We loved the color of the water..the breeze..the staff was friendly and helpful . It was relaxing and if you wanted more to do...taking the ferry shuttle to the boardwalk was easy. The shuttle boat drivers were friendly and helpful. There are alot of good places to eat with variety at reasonable prices. The excursions we took with Big Beards,to Buck Island and Sweenys' Island tour we informative, educational and fun! Even though the hotel is older, it is part of the charm. The management is making improvements everyday. We travel alot and we think this is a little piece of heaven!
