Overall the property was maintained. Restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. Security was friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was rude, unprofessional, and condescending. We noticed ants though-out our room to include on the bed within 10 minutes after arrival. Front desk staff provided us with bug spray and ant bait to self treat and staff tried to convince us it was normal to have ants due to being on the island. Not a good experience. The worst I’ve ever been treated. Staff needs hospitality/ customer service training.

Special thanks to Ted for making our wedding happen on such short notice after being displaced from going to Maui. He didn't have to help at all but he found us an officiant and a photographer that were both great! The staff was all extremely nice and helpful. The beach was beautiful and the water was super clear Sandcastle on the beach gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us and we can't wait to go back.

Absolutely love this property! Owners and staff are wonderful! Beautiful beach! Our biggest complaint is the surrounding area around the hotel. This is our second year at Sandcastle and this year the surrounding area seemed so much more noisy and dirty, especially on weekends. Makeshift home on neighboring beach....just didn't seem safe. They also changed the menu at their restaurant and we were not impressed. Ended up grocery shopping for lunch and breakfast meals.

We were very happy with the staff, the property, the rooms and the beach at the Sand Castle. We would definitely recommend the Sand Castle if you want a nice, quiet get-away!

As corporate pilots we chose this property since it was closer to airport. Two negatives were restaurant not open for breakfast and one of rooms was very noisy overnight.

The staff and owners of Sandcastle are amazing. Beautiful property with beautiful beaches. Hotel has a great restaurant with great food! Within walking distance are restaurants in downtown Frederikstead. Only negative thing is there is a slightly unsafe neighborhood to walk through to get to downtown area. Locals suggested not walking there at night. Felt very safe during the day. Lovely vacation spot! Will definitely be going back!

We stayed on the courtyard side (non ocean side) of the hotel, which was a downgrade due to Delta changing the day we flew. We were told upon arriving that the courtyard side was clothing optional around the pool,and in fact they occasional rent it out for the day to nudists. We are not nudists, so we uncomfortable at times and ended up using the other pool on the ocean side of the hotel. Other than that, the facilities were clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very good.

Very quaint property the staff knows you by name within hours of your arrival. The only downside is there is no shuttle so taxi service must be used to see any sites or do any off-site excursions
