What was there NOT to like?? This place was great from the moment we walked in to the time we left. Keith, the desk clerk the night we checked in was a perfect combination of positive energy, professionalism and tourist guide with a fantastic sense of humor. David the other clerk was also extremely nice. We were lucky enough to have gotten a spot in the original building. The pictures that lined the walls gave the perfect atmosphere to being in Hollywood. My favorite was a a nice black and white of Jack Nicholson as the Joker. I'm a sucker for old wooden staircases. The sound they give off when you climb up or down is nostalgic. They say we are old and wary but are still here to welcome you, still strong enough to hold you. We were right on the second floor so I was always happy to climb them. The elevator was the same but a slow elevator seems a little more tired and I hate to have them work. The pool was heated so the kids loved it as they swam under the moonlit night. The color stripe pattern that has been painted on the walls leaves you with a calm. Every guest there was also extremely nice and friendly, and lastly the room itself. Well the room was fantastic. It felt clean and comfortable. They even had a cute little dish there with q tips and cotton balls!!! No one does that anymore. This hotel is close to everything and like a block from highway 101. I will definitely stay here again and will gladly recommend this hotel to family and friends.
