Beautiful hotel, excellent staff, terrific amenities. We travel to Montreal a lot-- this hotel will be our new home!

The hotel is smack in the middle of downtown and is an easy walk or bus ride to Old Montreal. There are lots of restaurants around, and a pedestrian mall and shopping area is right around the corner. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful, and the room was beautiful! The kitchen in the room was fully stocked so you could cook a simple meal, though we didn't take advantage of that. The continental breakfast was less than average, and there was a very surly employee who was clearly annoyed that we didn't speak French. From an eco-friendly perspective, we were surprised that the bathroom toilet was not low-flow and they are still offering their soaps and lotions in plastic containers (the last hotel we stayed in had dispensers in the shower that could be refilled--seems a more eco-friendly model). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay. Square Phillipe is within walking distance to Vieux Port, Quartier des Spectacles, Rue Sainte-Catherine, and Chinatown. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a bit limited due to covid precautions, but adequate. Use of the pool required a day-of reservation for a half hour swim, with a limit of 10 in the pool area at any given time. Rooftop deck was also small but completely adequate.
