The Restaurant food at Sams was excellent. The menu in 1608 bar menu was terrible. Hotel room heater was noisy Was Woken up despite having a Do Not Disturb on the door. The Pool/Spa area is not like the pictures. Needs updating Had high expectations, as a overall Fairmont Guest, Could use improvements.

Lovely weekend with room for improvement!

Loved staying at the historic castle, lovely room, clean and comfortable. View of a brick wall but at least we could see what the weather was. Pool was great! Check in was flawless from valet parking and the bell staff to the knowledgeable front desk staff! Only two areas for improvement: tiny coffee pot in the room for espresso without creamer or a Starbucks that doesn’t open until 7 am is difficult for Americans who rise early and want real coffee! Also, the only bar in the hotel was not open for service at 3pm on the weekend during Winter Carnival? We were seated at a table in the restaurant next door, which wasn’t the ambiance we had hoped for and the kicker was being served a $24 martini in a sherry glass! I expect at a top notch hotel a real martini glass, especially when the glasses were used for drinks in the bar next door, which we couldn’t access. Opportunity to impress missed!
