Property is a little dated, but the location is great. Hotel is a little understaffed, but everything is right now. We have stayed here before, and possibly would again.

We stayed for a week with our 2 teenagers for spring break. Super friendly staff. Nice pool deck and updated lounge chairs. Cozy room with newer comfortable beds. The efficiency rooms are located on the first floor and still have beautiful oven views - you can lie in bed and see the water. The hotel is literally steps to the sand. The first floor efficiency rooms share a patio space on the pool deck so no private balcony. They have a good sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a small sized stove/oven from about the 1970s. It worked, but it was old so you couldn’t see the numbers on the dials to gauge temperature. Very basic cookware (4 plates and four bowls). Bring your paper plates, utensils, frying pans, can opener and dish detergent if you plan on cooking etc. Mini mart was connected to the hotel which we visited several times. Really convenient with whatever you need and fair prices. This is not the Ritz and not advertised as one, it is 2 stars closer to 3. It is definitely an old school inn, but it’s comfortable, convenient, you can bring your dog, and you can’t beat the proximity to the ocean or the price! A

We have stayed here before and I must say this time was much more pleasant. The room and pool area were much cleaner this time. We were glad to see new patio doors in the rooms. Would like to see the air conditioners updated in the rooms. The cover was coming off ours, and after a few days, it didn’t cool as well as the first few days. The new patio table in the pool area was a nice touch, but would like to see more lounge chairs. It was difficult to find a chair with the hotel fully booked. I know this isn’t a 5 star hotel, but was very pleased with the hotel for the price.

As described, the property had been recently renovated; however, that meant new headboards, flooring and countertops only. The bath tub was very, very old. There were about 10 patches in the fiberglass tub. The tub was extremely slow to drain and while taking a shower with the rusty shower head, the water would backup to my ankles.
We were visited by bugs one 2 separate days - one dead cockroach next to the bed and one alive bug in the bathroom.
Room service was awful. All 4 days, we had to go get them or go to the front office to ask for clean towels. One afternoon, it was 4:45 before they ever showed. With only 30+ rooms, you would think the rooms would be cleaned pretty quickly. The floors had a constant film on them and made our feet black.
The pool was disgusting. It was so cloudy, apparently from sand. People were constantly playing loud music on the patio at the pool as well as smoking and drinking. Not very family friendly. Beach access was good.
The hotel was pet friendly which was a plus for us; however, the only place for the dog to use the bathroom was right at the road which made our dog skiddish with the traffic and people walking by. Other visitors did not clean up after their pets, so there was poop everywhere.
Overall, it was reasonably priced, but we wouldn’t stay here again.

Well.. I checked into this place because it was a spur of the moment trip and I wanted to stay in Garden City, without paying a ton for a short trip. The staff was great, that was the best part of this place. When we got in, there were no towels and a battery was missing from the remote. The front desk promptly took care of this. The floor was dirty and sandy in the room. There was hair in the sink and on the towels they brought.. When I pulled down the covers, there were spots of what appeared to be old blood on the sheets.. I wouldn't recommend.

When we 1st checked in the room had a musty smell like the doors hadn’t been opened in a long time. With breeze Off the beach and those doors open as well as the front door it didn’t take real long to clear the smell out. Beds were great. Internet connection totally sucked! But the place was clean and comfortable
