First, let me say that we are pretty regular visitors to this particular Shiloh. It’s in a great location and the better rooms have a great view of the ocean, beach, and promenade. Many bars, restaurants, and shops are within easy walking distance, even in the cold weather.
But, unfortunately, the property is not being maintained or run well at all right now. Check-in was great — easy and quick — but, we hater found out much information was not given at that time. For example, there is no housekeeping provided unless requested. As we were only there two nights, it wasn’t a huge issue, but we didn’t know and therefore didn’t get more coffee packets, extra towels, or a blanket that we requested.
Our room had several issues — the door to the balcony was very difficult to open and the lock was broken. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we anrrived, including all the glasses and cups, and there was no dishwashing detergent so we could run it ourselves. There were no kitchen towels so we did dishes with bathroom hand towels, further depleting the towel supply that was never replenished. The refrigerator worked great, but it sounded like a washing machine stuck on the spin cycle all night long.
The building itself was also in need of serious maintenance. Only one elevator worked, and even that one was bouncy and jerky. The hot tub and the steam room were both out of order.
Overall, we were disappointed with this visit. Hoping things improve before we return.
