Book a hotel near Roque Bluffs State Park, Machias

"We had a great vacation at this property in quiet Jonesport, ME. The house had plenty of room for our 4 adult and 3 children family vacation. The great room has a nice view of the water, where you can see lobster boats coming and going, as well as lobstermen pulling traps. It was a cool experience to wake up hearing the low rumble of a diesel engine of a lobsterboat hidden in the mist. The kitchen is updated and well equipped. The exercise room was great for storing beach gear and our dog's kennel, and had it's own shower for washing off after the beach. The beach at the house was very private and had a mix of sand, gravel and cobble, including a nice strip of sand for the kids to play in. And just 10 minutes up the road is Sandy River Beach which is awesome for young kids, had the warmest water we found on our trip (that said, it's still Maine), and has an island you can walk to at low tide. Kathleen was a great host, very responsive, and the smores kit she provided was a hit. To buy lobsters, definitely go down to the co-op off to the left before the Beals bridge and buy fresh caught lobsters right off the dock. We are looking forward to going back!"

"We had a great time with our 3 adult kids, plenty of fun things to do in the area and the beach at the state park just down the road was a great bonus! The cottage had everything we needed and enough space for all of us, and was close enough to town (Machias) that we could run in for shopping. We found a great place for fresh live lobsters just down the road as well, and even figured out how to steam them. The property owner (Maggie) was readily available if we had any questions. This was our first Vrbo experience and it was a great one, we would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a Maine getaway!"

"We had a lovely time at the house this past week. The property is a lovely old restored home in a tranquil setting that is both oceanfront and pond-front (is that a word? Lol!) The private beach is a short walk down the back yard path, which is a beautiful natural meadow filled with wildflowers and even some wild blueberries. We could sit for hours in the Adirondack chairs, just birdwatching and watching the ocean. Jonesport is a tiny town, but it was close enough for day trips to Lubec (Easternmost spot in US), Bar Harbor and Acadia National park. Florence and Pascal we’re very attentive, and the house is very well stocked and comfortable. Thanks for a great trip!"

"The home was very comfortable for the 6 of us, stocked with everything we needed, and very clean. The property manager was easy to reach and responded quickly to any questions we had. There was a beautiful view out to the ocean as pictured, and there was a list of suggested sites to visit which we enjoyed! We had a wonderful time!"
