Not Overly Impressed
While our check-in was fantastic the rest of the stay was mediocre at best.
Not real sure how the heater was supposed to work as the fan rarely turned off and constantly blew cool air. They moved us to a different room, but the heater had the same problem. If the temperature was raised to 74* or 75* it would blow warm air for a while, then back to the cool air.
After our first nights stay we came back to the room to find that housekeeping hadn't been in to at least empty trash and leave fresh towels. Went to the front desk to get some and was told they only come every 4th day to service the room. They made a note to have housekeeping come the next day.
We had 2 small dogs with us and had to acknowledge the "rules". One of them was to have a door hanger on the door at all times making housekeeping aware there were pets in the room. The "rules" said housekeeping wouldn't come in unless we were there and the dogs were on leashes. The "rule" seemed confusing and when the desk clerk was asked about it she even said it was confusing.
Finally, Tru by Hilton bills themselves as a minimalist property. Only 1 uncomfortable chair in the room. Needed an ink pen, but they don't provide pens. No drawers in the event you wanted to unpack luggage. For us it didn't matter, but they don't even have coffee makers in the rooms. Other than the price I felt our room was kind of like a Motel 6 room from 40 years ago.
