"We absolutely had a delightful time at Mission Point Resort. Our room was nice overlooking Lake Huron. It was raining so hard when we arrived (morning) and it was quite cold that we thought we would have a long wait until check-in. They graciously and kindly allowed us to check in early. Wow! We were so grateful.
Downstairs they have a lovely market place (we frequented a few times) and a quaint coffee shop (we frequented more than a lot ... try their lilac latte!! WHOA!). Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
We had taken the history tour of Mission Point with the concierge Pat. She is such a lovely, bubbly, fun person with so much historical knowledge of the place and of Mackinac Island. It was a delight listening to her wonderful stories and to hear stories about her sweet collie, Nick, that worked on property chasing the birds and geese away. My sister had her service dog with her, so it touched our hearts to hear about sweet Nick.
It was a little on the pricey side, but we wanted to stay on Mackinac Island and this was the perfect place overlooking Lake Huron. The next day it was clear so we could walk to pick up a bicycle and cycle the 8.2 miles around the island. Such stunning views! Mission Point is in the perfect location ... not downtown, but close enough where we could walk.
The main lobby has a number of fireplaces so since we were so cold that first day, it was lovely to sit by them and warm up. Such a relaxing and peaceful place. "
