The hotel was clean and bright. It is very modern. People are friendly and helpful. The one problem is the restaurants: no place for a quick, affordable breakfast or lunch. However, they are happy to provide recommendations within a reasonable distance.

Great view and location, though disappointing

The hotel is right across a bridge from Schwedenplatz, making it a terrific home base to explore the city and enjoy Viennese nightlife. I upgraded to a room with a view of Stephansdom, which was a wonderful sight. Additionally, the hotel bar on the top floor (Das Loft) has a great panoramic view of the city and a fine selection of spirits. Many of the staff were quite friendly and prompt to help out with requests. Unfortunately, the hotel was simply not up to the standards expected of a 5-Star luxury hotel. Much of the room was poorly designed (e.g. there is no door to use the separate shower, which makes it very easy to flood the bathroom. Instead of shades, there were giant sliders on the windows that looked like they were made of cheap plastic, while the floor was surprisingly uncomfortable. Additionally, the fitness center was thread bare with just a handful of machines and exercise mats.

Modern luxury in convenient location

Pros: Room, location
Location: Attractions within walking distance. Museums very good.
Great modern hotel. Enjoyed spacious luxe hotel room looking out over town, with famous church and other landmark buildings glowing in the dark. Room always clean and bed and linens contributed to rest. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to walk to places we wanted to see. Surrounding neighborhood had many convenient and excellent restaurants. We celebrated our last night by eating in the restaurant atop the hotel. Pricey but the food was very good.

A real FIVE stars!

Pros: Outstanding customer service from the front staff, beautiful view of the city Location, location, location!
Cons: Le Loft restaurant could be a little less Petite Cousine
Location: Only 5 minutes walking distance from the center of old town, 5 min driving to the CAT Train, in front of the Ferry boat system and metro station.
I have traveled all my life in several countries and states, this was my best experience in a hotel. A real five hotel, great location, only 5 minutes walking distance from the center of old town, 5 min driving to the CAT Train, in front of the Ferry boat system and metro station. Outstanding customer service from the front staff, beautiful view of the city.

Totally Euro Design - First Rate Hotel

Pros: Views, location, bar/restaurant, service.
Cons: An issue regarding our safe that resulted from a mistaken room number could have been mitigated had the staff told us what happened immediately.
Location: Walk to Stephensplatz (10 minutes) or Karlsplatz (20 minutes); take the tram anywhere (Rathaus, Belvedere). In spring or summer check out the Prater.
First things first - awesome view of Vienna from our room, very comfortable bed and impeccable service from the staff, all of whom spoke English very well. Great location across the canal from Schwedenplatz, where you can access the Ubahn or trams to get wherever you want. The 18th floor bar/restaurant offers an expanded version (270 degree) of the view from the bedroom (make sure you get a bedroom facing the City Center) that is simply spectacular. So how does a hotel that scores a 5 in every category get an overall rating of 4 ( it would have been 4.5 if that was possible)? From my admittedly culturally biased perspective, the room design (advertised as "scarcely nothing") is minimalist in the extreme. Everything you need is there - TV, WiFi, mini-bar (water and juice), but it is all one big room (with partitions that can be rolled out to partially wall off the shower and sinks). The toilet is in a small cubicle off the front entrance. There is no rug on the floor, which appears to be made of some type of acrylic substance (though it never got cold), and the shower is not sectioned off - it juts out of the wall and the water just splashes where it may. There is a waterfall shower head and a jet stream option, but be careful if you jet because you might douse your companion at the sink! Again, this isn't much different than other "artistic" hotel designs, and it really didn't detract from our stay (especially with those comfortable beds). OK, make it a 4.9 or 4.95.
