Enjoyed a lovely view overloking the pool and Banderas Bay. Hotel went above and got me a mini-fridge for my meds. Taxi to Malecon or Rio Cuale 100 - 125 pesos. Only con, were the low toilets, which for a person with bad knees and back, resulted in much pain. Otherwise, there were elevators and ramps for those who need wheelchairs. No pool or beach access for those in a wheelchair. Lovely place.

Food was do salty drinks at the pool bar horrible tasting very cheep liqour no fresh fruit all sryup No other resort we have been to in mexico makes one pay extra for a person to stay after 11:am on check out day our flight was at 6:00 pm They wanted 2000 more pesos to stay 3.5 hours longer until we had to taxi to airport Our room was kept clean by wonderful house keeping staff We bought our own alchohal because theirs was horrible!!!

I have stayed at Canto del Sol many times. There have been many changes made since COVID happened. They do have a smoking area, but it is in front of the hotel or on the beach. There is nowhere to actually sit and have a cigarette, so maybe a bench would be nice. I really enjoy the swim up bar but wish it was open later than six p m every day. The buffet was pretty good, but they seemed to lack salads and greens. The water had been very high. So there was very little beach access at this time of year, which was end of January. Which is o k if you are not going for the beach. The rooms were clean. And the cleaning staff did a good job. The a la carte's were also very nice and the food was delicious.

This was our second time and honestly, we will not be going back. This time we stayed longer and paid for VIP access, and it was nowhere near as good as our first time there. We made attempted to make reservations for supper at check in time, which you need to do if you want to eat at the restaurants and not buffet every night. We for the second trip in a row were not able to get into the outdoor restaurant which was a huge disappointment as we were here a week! The print schedule of snack bar and pool bars closing times were way off and we were not the only people disappointed about this. The food was the same, I mean the exact same, every single day, every single meal...buffet or resturant.

The main buffet building is gorgeous, good food. The cocktail menu is long and the staff are great. The rooms are average unless you pay for a view but they all have a balcony. There's 3 pools so you can usually find a fairly quiet place to read or sun. Beach huts are stellar but get there early. Same goes for chairs. This is the best resort I've been to so far.
