The adult pool was excellent , no kids , the buffet was sometimes a challenge because some parents would not supervise there kids and let them run around and make a lot of noise .

Barcelo Mismaloya is over rated. Should be a 3.8 star. The VIP Carlos, Cesar and Perla are fantastic. Friendly and were very 5 star rated. Always cheerful and happy! The Front desk, in main lobby, some were glad to see you and some were not happy to be there. Danny the M/C and organizer, fantastic. Wish more hotels had his energy! Always quick witted, great English! Food, buffet, was edible but not hot at all! Good choices for everyone. I can’t complain as I can choose what I feel like eating at any time! Lots of enthusiastic waiters/waitresses! Ala Carts - Steak house, cold food. Not a great vibe. Tried twice and both times, we wouldn’t go back. Italian, was good. Not the best service. Lower end of the scale of good. Japanese, food was cold, but edible, and lack of service. Zero enthusiasm. Spanish, went twice, Steak, Lamb and Salmon, all fantastic! Waiters are plenty running around but getting a drink was tough. I’d still go again! WIFI, good luck. Very outdated! Needs updating. As all the ala carts have no menus or lack of them and your suppose to download the menu. We couldn’t as there’s very little or zero WIFI. And being VIP, we had zero WIFI. Rooms, are nice, older, but huge! Lots of room. Actually, I liked the oldness vibe! Yes outdated, but I still really enjoyed it, The area, Mismaloya, very memorable area. Loved it! Over all, I’d give the hotel overall a 3.8 out of 5. Even with that, we’d go back instantly. It’s an older place! With great vibes

We spent a week here 2/10/24-2/17/24. The location was amazing, but that is where the benefits of this resort ended. My husband got violently ill on Monday night through Tuesday. The rest of our 8 person party spent the week eating Charcoal pills, Immodium, or Tums do to GI issues also. The bathrooms in the rooms where not cleaned thoroughly often leaving residue on the toilets and the bathrooms throughout the resort were generally not working most of the time. We lost power almost daily, not for long, but still lost it. We were not impressed with the food at the reservation only restaurants or the staff, it almost seemed like we were a burden to them. The last full day we were on resort we left our room at 12 returned at 4, when we left our room had already been cleaned by housekeeping, but there was a maintenance worker in the room next to our room which had not been occupied the whole week we were there. When we returned around 4 the safe would not let me into it and kept erroring. We called down to the front desk and they sent up a security staff member. He quickly opened the safe and asked me to make sure I could open it with the same code. I verified that I could open the safe and relock it, but did not look into it while he was in the room. 15 minutes later I opened the safe to get some cash out and realized that our cash, around $2000 was missing. We kept our money in the safe locked at all times even when we were in the room. We went down to the front desk to r

Such a beautiful location with a wonderful resort right on the beach. It was very clean and well maintained. The epitome of what an all inclusive resort should be. My only question what why is the swim up bar not in the adults only pool?
