So handy to the coast, castle, seal viewing. We wanted small and quiet and it was fine. No glamour, just straight forward, which was what we expected. Perfect for walker, wheelchair.

My wife and I love staying here when we go up the coast. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff are wonderful. We always feel welcome here. There are a couple local restaurants located within walking distance or drive into Cambria for dinner. I highly recommend this Hotel. You will enjoy the stay.

Needs a huge update.
I was curious to stay in San Simeon and this stay was a bargain but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I tried to book directly but the hotel would not honor rates I saw online and the staff member challenged me and told me I wouldn’t be able to get the rate I was seeing online- they were wrong. Online rate was more than 30% less than what I was quoted from staff. Staff at the hotel miscoded my keys and couldn’t read my ID so that added to my trust. Room was a very good size but was mostly worn, dingy and funky. Linens were worn. Woke the next day to ants in the bathroom. Breakfast was included and was standard for a low budget chain- not the local experience I expected from the website. This place could be charming but needs to be refreshed — with an update for the property and staff training. Best is the location. The hotel is a short distance (walkable) to shore access and short drive to some wonderful places to explore. I will return to the area but not to this hotel.

Nice stay in San Simeon
Nice motel convenient to Hearst Castle, Elephant Seal rookery, Cambria, Cayucos, and Morro Bay within a somewhat short drive. Our room was quite nice. The person at the front desk in the evening was great. During the day not so much so. But we would definitely go back. Note Though: This is a two story building with inside stairs but no elevator. If you have mobility issues, be sure to request a ground floor unit.
