The lobby of this hotel is impressive. The rooms are not. Very poor conditions for the price. I was a travel agent that booked a group of rooms here for 3 nights. The lobby was very impressive and I thought that the rooms would be of equal condition, but they were not. The rooms were very large for a hotel room but that's the best I can say about it. Almost everything in the room had some sort of damage or stains. Furniture, walls, window, curtains, everything. The room smelled really bad too. We did not complain because after investigating multiple rooms from my group, they all were the same. There would have been nothing the staff could do. The Good: The hotel offers a fantastic shuttle service to most areas of downtown, including the airport and train station. We were very appreciative of this, as explorers. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The lobby is awesome and they serve fruit water and cookies. The breakfast sausage and eggs were barely edible but everything else (waffles, pastries, yogurt, coffee, etc.) were awesome. The rooms are very spacious for hotel rooms. The Bad 1. There were stains on the walls, and wallpaper was torn 2. The ground-floor room's window did not lock because the entire window frame was falling apart (Room 112). 3. The curtains were badly torn. 4. The carpet was filthy and we couldn't walk around without shoes. 5. The upper edge of the shower was filthy with dust and grime. 6. Furniture was torn and severely scratched.

Due to house keeping staff walking out the day of our schl check in, we didnt get our keys & get into our room til 847pm. We were there at 3pm Also, my daughter bed collasped during the night , 130am, & it remained this way for the duration ourour stay. We checked out at 10am, & were unable to speak with anyone in managment positin, we were given a business card to email her. & the staff offered no aploligy nor compensation. Didnt seem to care or allow any affect in the matters

Staff

Pros: One of the staff (Kyra).
Cons: Keep her on the payroll!
Location: We took the trolley, which was not eventful. Loved our visit to the zoo. Went to 2 amazing restaurants (The Bridge, and Orso). Amazing seafood!
Kyra (I believe this is her name) was amazing and accommodating. She was extremely helpful and kind. She made this experience well worth staying at this Comfort Inn enjoyable.

Location is Everything

We stayed at the Comfort Inn only for one night. We found that the location was perfect. The hotel was walking distance to the Saturday market, the train station, and many restaurants. We spent our afternoon simply exploring Anchorage by foot.We had read that trains could be heard from inside the rooms. That was not our experience. The room was pretty standard but comfortable and we had no complaints. If you are travelling by train and want the ability to explore the city, this Comfort Inn is perfectly located for you!
