Checking in was a bit slow but otherwise great hotel, area was perfect and close to my sons college, OU. I would definitely stay here again.

We apologize about the wait as you can understand it was a busy weekend hope to have you back soon.

We were refused a room at Athens Central Hotel. Staff explained that "it has been overbooked by Travelocity". I am aware that this happens with airlines, and the usual recourse is $500 voucher and a less convenient flight. I am not aware that this happens with hotels, and in our case the recourse was a 2-bedroom suite for $130 more per night, or take a walk. They sold our room to a higher bidder, and showed us out of the door. Not good. Travelocity is not good either, as they were supposed to at least let us know that this happened, and they did not.
