I've stayed in a dozen 5 star hotels near the BKK airport over the years and this is my favorite. Staff is the best by far; they always remember me and brought a cake to my room on my birthday!

We stayed here for 3 nights on the front end of our stay in Thailand and then for a single night on our way back. The hotel is quite nice. Wonderful breakfast bar, that I think comes out to about $10US per day. Nice regular restaurant menu too. Both Thai and other cuisine. It is very convenient to the airport with a shuttle running every 30 minutes except for the wee hours of the morning. The downside is that staying here puts you so far from most of the attractions of Bangkok. Almost an hour taxi ride to the Grand Palace.
