NO ELEVATOR for second floor, major hassle getting a bunch of stuff to and from car. Breakfast area didn't open till 7am, should be 6am. Fixtures in bathroom shower leaking all over the place. Pretty worn and dated facility...

Disappointing experience

Pros: The only positive thing I can say about the hotel was that the room was clean, beds were comfy, A/C was excellent, nice and cold!
Cons: Training the desk clerks on better customer service and more electrical outlets, don't have enough. ADD AN ELEVATOR!!
Location: Location good. Many places to dine nearby. Easy access.
Quality Inn at Bastrop turned out to be extremely disappointing! Website DOES NOT MENTION that there is NO ELEVATOR as someone with bad knees had to climb stairs every day, not good! We arrived on Friday evening and there was NO ONE to greet us, we ended up waiting for over half an hour, ringing the bell provided, for someone to check us in. The night time desk clerk Kadedra was outside talking on her personal cell phone and smoking a cigarette while we were waiting inside to get checked in, another couple walked in and also had to wait to get checked in. When she, Kadedra finally came in, she DID NOT greet us and barely spoke to us. Her attitude was that of someone not wanting to be there. Very bad customer service from Kadedra! On the other hand the day time desk clerk Amy, was great! Amy greeted us upon checkout with a smile, excellent!!

Nice hotel, no elevator

Pros: Comfortable clean rooms and the air conditioner worked very well. Comfortable beds. The rooms smelled good, did not have that old hotel funk.
Cons: Internet was a bit slow but it depended on the time of day. Need an elevator! Bigger pillows for the beds.
Location: Downtown Bastrop shops. Old and quaint. Austin is close. Hiking at several close-by state parks and wildlife areas. Fishing is reported to be OK.
It is a nice hotel with all room access indoors. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I brought along a lot of luggage as this was a base for several day-trips around the area. Upon arrival, I discovered they have no elevator and my assigned room was upstairs. I expressed my concern and the manager immediately found me a nice room downstairs. I think it would have been more difficult to grant my request if the hotel was full and it was a weekend. I arrived on a Thursday. Check out was quick and the hotel was quiet. This is a business or stop over1hotel. While there is a pool, this is not a hotel where you comfortably lounge around the grounds. It is surrounded by a parking lot.

This hotel met my expectation in every way.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
Rooms seem clean, fresh, and comfortable. Free wi-fi that works. Breakfast included boiled eggs (good for those of us on low carb diets), yogurt, and you could make your own waffles, which pleased my teen-age son.

Procede with caution

If issued a second floor room, you have to carry your own bags up & down the stairs since there is no elevator available. The rooms are spacious enough but the guard light outside will certainly light up the room all night. One of our towels was severely stained, causing us to question the cleanliness of the rest of the towels. The "free wifi" never worked during our visit. Never saw the free breakfast, so we went into the Historic Distric and has a wonderful breakfast.
