The hotel is stunning and the history is presented in a wonderful way, it is literally like staying in a museum. The renovation is so beautifully done. We cannot rate this hotel high enough! The food was great and although service was a little slow this was in keeping with the pace of our holiday. The Titanic museum is literally a stones throw away, much closer than expected. We had rain during our stay and they offered large umbrellas for hire for £2 which was a lifesaver! Great stay
The food and beverage staff was performed poorly during my stay. Whether staffing issues or management, it took at least 30 minutes to take an order during the two day stay.
Very nice property but two small complaints:
1. My room was facing busy road. The sound-proofing was poor. Had I been staying more than 1 night I’d have needed to move rooms.
2. There is no gym here, not even a small fitness room. I find that incredibly odd for a property of this standard to lack a fitness room with a treadmill and a few basic bits. Massively overlooked in my opinion.
A pretty good hotel overall but some inconsistencies. Tried calling room service and the front desk for 30 mins one night. Strangely dark hallways are slightly creepy at night. My key failed twice and had to trek back to get it recharged. Inflexibility around a reservation change made with adequate notice that resulted in an extra charge. And the bed was a bit on the saggy side. Staff however is lovely and tried to help, The storage of bags worked well, but the policy on early entry seemed also inconsistent— while I was paying 30 pounds for 1 pm entry after a redeye flight, the man next to me was checking in with seemingly no issue. (It’s possible he paid the fee in advance.) finally the location is a bit isolated, with 25 m walk to nearest “shops”— pharmacy, snacks etc. A decent choice if you don’t mind using taxis and like the odd tragedy-as-tourist-attraction vibe, but if staying more than a couple of days it might be better to be more in town.
