This property was amazing. The grounds are absolutely perfect. Lovely place. Great staff. Awesome views. The amenities were perfect. The place is more expensive then the average place in the same area but well worth the difference in price. So perfect was my weekend that I’m going back in May. This is the type of place that you will come back for sure. Lovely place. Awesome grounds. Perfect weekend.

Uncomfortable and Underwhelmed.

The resort and waitstaff under 30yo were helpful, vibrant and outgoingly communicative. However, there was an odd 'lurking in the shadows' presence of blue coated overseeing manager who never spoke and rarely made eye-contact. We had the opportunity to eat at the casual dining facility twice during our stay. On the last occasion, a manager walked within 12 inches of our table no less than 22 times in a pacing fashion. It was incredibly uncomfortable, so I outgoingly tried to start a conversation with him and was completely ignored. He was much too busy keeping a very close eye on the waitstaff to even notice the oddity of his behavior with guests. The same manager lurked behind the front desk clerk, as we inquired about docking a private boat. Standing within feet of us but never making eye contact or addressing my husband and I. The cottage where we stayed were two levels and the party above us sounded as if the were moving heavy furniture or bowling late into the evening. Sincerely, Disappointed

Nice Hotel Avoid the Restaurant

Pros: see above
Cons: The quality of the Restaurant Food is horrible. Friendly wait staff. Hostess not helpful. Recommend Cupbard Café & Watershed Tavern.
Location: Great Fun walking around downtown Boothbay shops. Interesting area Pottery Shops. Must see Pemaquid Lighthouse & Fort .
Very nice clean accommodations, comfortable bed, small private porch, railing so high on first floor that it blocked the view. Food very pricey and poor quality.

Not A Stay Worthy of A Celebrated Resort--Expensive and Disappointing

Cons: Nothing close, Poor breakfast, missing amenities, unappetizing dining poor service, maid service below average
We have come to Spruce Point Inn to enjoy its location for over a decade, except in 2011. In 2012, we found seasoned staff had vanished--along with the personal, consistent hospitality we had known. Our tennis reservations had been made during a local league tournament--twice! When dining, we had been served raw, uncooked chicken, tasteless lobster dishes, unseasoned seafood, cold breakfast buffet, and chaotic service from young, inexperienced staff. The wise sommelier from the past has been replaced by an incompetent host--with no hospitality experience. Gone are the enjoyable resort standards of excellence, replaced with untrained, inexperienced, and confrontational staff. This is not a celebrated resort during peak season: this is expensive and disappointing. We passed on purchasing the SPI decals for sale at reception.
