Picture Perfect Panoramic Views of surf and dunes out every window, all day long in a Raised View, Pagoda Beach House in the round with soaring cathedral ceilings.

• Sunrise over an endless ocean, viewed from the wrap around, covered front deck or the Panoramic Picture Windows.

• Sun Set and cocktails on the back deck, with miles of unspoiled, rambling private dunes in the fore ground and Back Bay on the horizon. The location is so surreal you will think you are in a dreamy a movie, or a Hollywood backdrop. But Wake up and take the vacation you deserve ! This is living.

Before you dismiss my description as silly hyperbole. Please watch the quick Panoramic Video (link redacted by Expedia/home Away)

The round house on the beach is 1200 Square Feet of Pure Heaven, with soaring cathedral ceilings, and panoramic vista's everywhere.

Location

• This is Cedar Island. Called the “Gate way to outer Banks”. You can take the Ocracoke Ferry or dive over the Route 12 Highway Bridge, and though a very scenic waterfronts and moors on both sides of the road for the last 20 miles.

• Amazing water views, Sunrises AND Sunsets over the water, privacy, peace and quiet, virgin beaches and dunes, all for a truly affordable price. If you want a true get away without vacationing crowds, you found it.

• Make a day visit to Ocracoke, and the outer banks. The ferry is minutes away, at the end of our private dune road. Ride the ferry to Ocracoke for $1. Rent a golf cart, browse the artists shops, dine on the waterfront and come back that evening for $1. Your privacy, peace and quiet are waiting. If you want a true get away, this beach house is love at first sight.

• Bring your bicycle, boat, kayak or wind surfer, and other water toys. See the list of activities you can enjoy on Cedar Island.

• There is a new beautiful boat ramp at the end of the dune road.

• 97% of Cedar Island is Conservation Land. You are surrounded by a hundred acres of dunes. There is 2.5 miles of pristine beaches and dunes to walk, just to the left of the house. A number of deserted sandy beach islands you can paddle to and be the only ones on earth.

• The ferry is ½ mile down the beach in the other direction. There is only one vacation house next door. See the list of activities Cedar Island can offer, at the end of this listing.

• Google the address, (282 Soundview Drive, Cedar Island 28520) and look at the satellite view. It is the next to last house on the beach, and the only round house on the island. Look at the private beach to the left. Look at all the virgin sandy beaches and deserted beach islands you can paddle to. Try to find this anywhere else.

Access (Read this Carefully!!!)

This house is not for everyone. Not handicap accessible.

• A 4 wheel drive is convenient to access this property, or you can walk 10 minutes on the dunes or beach (your choice), and park on the pavement.

• Unless the tide is very high, you can drive down the beach. No permit is required. But a single storm can change the beach shape, I can't make promises.

• Driving to the beach house requires a good 4 wheel drive to drive down the beach. Golf Carts are rented at the restaurant and are used on the beach, if you don't have a 4x4. Some choose to just walk down the beach.

• You are renting with the understanding, that access to this house can be challenging, especially during or after storms. That is just part of the territory with renting a in a wilderness park / beach location. You might have to walk.If you are not coming here to walk the beach, you are renting the wrong house. A good truck and a lead foot should get you there. If you are not comfortable with this, you should discuss it with the owner, rent a 4 wheel drive truck or consider a less remote vacation. No prima donnas please.

• There are only a hand full of places left in the USA with this kind of beach front wilderness. The privacy is a result of this challenging access.

• Breathtaking Views out every window and deck, in every direction.

• Super Sunrises directly over Pamlico Sound, viewed from the front deck and living room with 90 miles of Pamlico Sound in front of you. This is North America’s largest salt water lagoon (30 miles wide by 90 miles long). It is an inland, protected ocean.

• Hundreds of Acres of Dunes and Dune roads, with Back Bay in the back drop.

Boating And Water Recreation
• The water in front of the house is shallow at low tide. Great for wading. Pamlico Sound is considered protected waters, but can have major wind driven seas and surf. You are likely to have a mixture of calm and breaking surf. The boat launch ramp is at the ferry terminal, ½ mile away. Bringing boats up to the property depends on the draft of the boat and the tide. Bring your water toys. There will be plenty of opportunity to use them.

Nor’easter visit!
The round house is truly set in a natural habitat that won’t last forever. The sunsets were wonderful and the house well equipped. We blew in with a Nor’easter and had some problems with dunes covering the road to the house but Rodney helped us overcome that with the loan of his 4WD truck to get us through during our visit. Which was very helpful and kind.

Sedcluded paradise!
I can't say enough about our stay at Cedar Island Round House. I highly recommend driving down the beach to get to the house. The views are stunning! We came for nature, seclusion & beach and hit all three perfectly with this place. First we launched the provided kayaks from the other side of the ferry. We were able to beach on various sand bars and found crabs, hermit crabs and small sting rays around us! The other cool part is there's wild horses & COWS on that side of the beach too. It's a real treat to see if you've never seen wild animals like that. We've never been to the sound before so it kind of blew my mind how shallow the water was that far out but was neat to explore. It made me feel safe. It did end up storming there and even that was enjoyable. After it got dark we had the most perfect view for a passing lightening storm. The round house had everything we needed and it was super easy to bring our own food from home. It was so relaxing to walk along the beach and watch the sunset. There's not a lot of people on Cedar Island but the ones we met were super nice. We cannot wait to stay at the round house again! Rodney is a real nice guy and I'm happy he let us stay at his house.
