  • Be sure you know the whereabouts of your passport and boarding pass. You don’t want to hold up the queue when you’re asked to produce them.
  • Remove your belt and shoes before approaching the security checkpoint. Items like these are not permitted in the body scanner.
  • Electronics such as laptops, cameras and phones are always sent through the X-ray machine separately. Make sure they’re within easy reach.
  • When you approach the security checkpoint, you’ll be asked to put all gels, liquids and creams in a separate tray for scanning. Make sure they’re all in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Loosen your shoelaces in preparation for entering the body scanner. Depending on the sort of shoes you’ve got on, security may tell you to remove them.
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Have a look at your carrier’s website to understand what is not allowed on board their flights.

How to find cheap flights

What is the best day to buy a plane ticket?

Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.

What are the cheapest days to fly?

Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.

How far in advance can you book a flight?

Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

*According to flight demand on Travelocity.ca from January to December 2021. Savings are subject to change and may vary depending on selections made.

Flights To Baguio

The summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio is a refreshing resort in the mountains. Surrounded by regal pines, this university town has long been a destination for those looking to escape the heat and experience an exotic blend of highland and lowland cultures. As they pass the mountainous region, Baguio flights reveal to tourists just why this city is nicknamed the "City of Pines." However, unless you contract a private plane, it's not possible to land in Baguio itself at the Loakan Airport (BAG), though commercial service has come in and out of existence in the past and it may well be revived in the future. For now, those destined for the pine-covered hills of Baguio should fly into Clark Airport (CRK), 103 miles away, or Manila's Ninoy International Airport (MNL), 161 miles away.

Transportation From CRK and MNL

Clark Airport is one of the biggest in Asia. Renting a car and getting a taxi to reach any of the hotels in Baguio are definite options, but the airport is far enough from Baguio that buses may present a more reasonable option than taxis. Take a shuttle from CRK to Dau Bus Terminal, where you can catch a bus to Baguio. The same is true if you're coming from the Ninoy International Airport in Manila: You can rent a car, but it might be a bit far to take a taxi. Instead, simply catch a taxi to the Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Pasay, where you can find a bus headed to Baguio.

Discover Baguio

The City of Pines is awe-inspiring, and not just for its landscapes. Locals are celebrated for their carving and weaving skills, and you can browse their one-of-a-kind wares at the market downtown. To save more money for handmade baskets and figurines, search for cheap flights to Baguio on Travelocity. Here, you'll find economic plane tickets to Baguio. Planning your trip is easy, as Baguio vacation packages bundle flights and accommodation. Book today and take advantage of the Travelocity Price Guarantee—Travelocity will match a lower price and refund the difference!
