How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Colorado Springs

Your journey to Colorado Springs kicks off as soon as you've completed all the security checks. We've compiled a list of tips and pointers to make sure you get through quickly:

  • Make sure you know the location of your boarding pass and passport. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to present them.
  • You'll need to put your music on pause for a short while. Earphones must be taken off and placed in a tray for X-raying. The same applies to items such as belts and heavy jackets.
  • Laptops need to be removed from their carry bags and placed in a tray prior to being X-rayed.
  • When you get to the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to place all gels, liquids and creams in a separate tub for scanning. Make sure they're all packed in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Construction boots and other cumbersome shoes tend to be X-rayed by security personnel. Think about wearing lightweight sneakers instead.
  • Put any multi-tools or other pointy metal items in your checked luggage. Security won't allow these in carry-on baggage.
