How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Juneau

Your journey to Juneau begins as soon as you've satisfied the security checks. We've summarized a few helpful tips and hints to ensure you get through quickly:

  • Be sure you know the whereabouts of your boarding pass and passport. You don't want to hold up the line when you're asked to produce them.
  • It's useful to know that belts with metal buckles can set off the body scanner's alarms. If you have one on, you may be instructed to take it off before proceeding.
  • Make sure your phone, laptop and other electronic devices are within reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine separately.
  • Face cream, toothpaste and other toiletry items in gel, liquid or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear zip-lock bag.
  • Untie your shoelaces as you approach the body scanner. Depending on the sort of shoes you're wearing, security may tell you to remove them.
  • Some places have stringent quarantine laws. Think about where you're journeying to and whether or not you're permitted to fly with fruit and meats.
