Generally disappointed with overall experience and overpriced for double room offering considering it was upgraded with Expedia booking but did not include breakfast. Upon arrival I was asked to pay in full for the entire 2 night stay with the receptionist quoting the price out loud (for everyone in the queue behind and my girlfriend to hear who was there on a treat) - not a good first impression or welcoming experience on arrival! We then went to get a drink from the bar although we queued for at least 10 minutes until 1 of 5 bar members that were cleaning and doing other tasks acknowledged us! We took the drinks to a window seat in the conservatory bar area but we were then told by 2 different staff members that we couldn’t sit there even though the bar was entirely empty. Once we finished our drinks (that had been assigned to our room) we left and were swiftly chased down at reception to sign for a table of drinks and food that were not ours and 5x the value. These points highlight the apparent lack of staff training in customer service and putting the customer first whilst being professional and showing some subtlety! The room was clean and a nice place to relax although the common areas are tired and not all that clean. The spa changing rooms and showers were dirty and are in need of an upgrade! Lovely setting and stunning location, just a shame about the service.
