The beaches were incredible with an activities desk to book sailing and other water sports. The new restaurant is NOT as good as the original, the food is expensive and the wait staff is very friendly but scattered. Not bringing spoons or cream with our coffee, having to ask for it every time.

The first time back at Grand Case since the hurricane and it is still sad to see the destruction. The Beach club staff was great. All the new construction is very nice. We will continue to return and can't wait to go back

Who needs rude staff on a vacation

After reading great reviews, we booked 3 nights but it was so bad we left after just one. The property is ok, location good, half the staff in need of improvement. Upon arrival,no one to help us take luggage upstairs, no elevator, a very cranky security guy reluctantly helped us, door to room was weirdly narrow and we had to turn at an angle to enter, we are lean adults, our Suite was very nice and clean, updated, nice bathroom, kitchen. The common areas were in need of cleaning as was our terrace which had iguana ick on it. We had dinner at hotel and had a really nice meal w/pleasant service. Went back for breakfast, had very rude waiters snapping at us. Asked multiple times and patiently for water and never got it. Paid for a cup of coffee to go and was snapped at when asked for it. The difference between the evening/morning staff is night/day. We arrived at 11:45 to rent a car (ad open 9 to 5) Front desk clerk immediately snapped at us that they were closed till 2. We were surprised at her tone from a simple question. Trying to be friendly, we tried to engage her on where to go to shop, long at hotel (15 years) and then asked for a taxi. no other guests in lobby and she was extraordinarily rude and ugly with us. While waiting,we observed her being rude to other guests who entered. We asked for a manager, she refused and to spite us cancelled our taxi. We checked out and left.

Beautiful views and great location

Pros: Beautiful views and beach in front of it. Perfect location for visiting Grand Case at night
Cons: Would prefer a bath tub over a shower, but it was alright. They take all beach chairs and umbrellas at 5:00 pm (actually start around 4:15 pm).
Location: Grand Case boutiques and restaurants. Pinel Island
We decided to go to St. Martin (French side) for our 10th anniversary, mostly because we liked the reviews for the hotel. Our second floor oceanview room at the Grand Case Beach Club had an amazing beach view, and you could see and feel the ocean just some steps from it. The room was comfortable and convenient, with modern appliances (kitchenette, fridge, toaster, etc.) and a nice bath. We arrived around 12:30 pm so they told us we may have to wait for some time before our room was ready, but after checking out with housekeeping they were able to have it ready in 15 minutes. We made good use of the fridge, buying delicattessen (cheese, prosciutto, etc), beverages, water, crackers, snacks, etc, on our first day and either taking them to the beach or eating them when we came back from the beach. We prefered to save our stomachs for dinner in the amazing Grand Case restaurants. We only had lunch at the Sunset Café once (Club Sandwich and a Panini) and it was good. The included breakfasts were simple but good, with baguette and croissants, butter and jam, and most days a nice "pain au chocolat". Once we ordered a salmon plate and it was good, The other thing that stands out from the hotel is its location. We had a car and went to Philipsburg and Marigot one day, and another day went to the beach at the near Pinel Island. However, staying at the hotel's beach during the day and going to the Grand Case restaurants at night was the perfect plan for us.

25th wedding anniversary trip

Pros: The location was the best and most of the staff was very friendly.
Cons: The office staff could be a little more friendly.
Location: The beach club is a little hard to find if you have never been there. The Octopus Diving place is on the same road has the beach club.
Me and my wife had a wonderful time on our trip. Grand Case Beach Club was a nice and relaxing place to stay. The water was beautiful and calm.

Where we stay on St. Martin

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet, food mart within walking distance
GCBC became our "go to" place on St. Martin. Have stayed there nine times since 2000. Many of the employees remember us. Have our "spot" on the beach. Look forward to going there every year.

A nice hotel for a quiet get-a-way.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Has a nice beach, although smallish, with attentive beach attendants and great snorkling. Very nice on site restaurant and bar, but hotel's best feature is it's proximity to great dining within walking distance. Not cheap (especially if you have U.S dollars), but some of the best French and Italian food you'll ever have on an island. The hotel itself is in ok shape, flatscreen tvs in rooms and I-pod players, but bathrooms are small and if you're over 5'9" make sure you're not on the 3rd floor or you'll be hitting your head on the loft ceiling getting out of bed. Maid service was OK, but they're tight with the soap and towels, so stock up when you see them. Also, make sure you exchange your beach towels before noon, because for some reason they won't do it a minute after.

Hit jackpot with this resort

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, beaches never crowded, walking distance to grand case, staff extremely pleasant, grounds secure and clean
I stayed at Grand Case Beach Club for 5 nights with my SO, my sister and her SO, and my mother and we couldn't have had a better time. We were drawn to the french side of the island, St. Martin, because we wanted a relaxing, slower paced vacation than what the dutch side offers. The resort is beautiful. The grounds are clean and well manicured. The rooms are very clean, well maintained, and up to date. The staff are very helpful. The beaches, both the north and south stretches, are pristine and never crowded. The onsite restaurant, Sunset Cafe, consistently served great food; I would order from their specials always. They have convenient flags on the beach chairs so you can order a drink right on the water. I read some other reviews complaining how the billing for the cafe is separate from the resort. Not sure what the problem is. You simply let them know your room number and you settle the tab before you check out. Easy. While the resort is located in a nice little secluded pocket on the island, only a 5 minutes walk away is the Grand Case strip where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and lolos (island bbq joints). Everything else is a bus or taxi ride away (max 30 minutes to anywhere on the island, at least for us). The only thing I can think of one should be aware of when coming here is that the free continental breakfast isn't really so. At the cafe, you are greeted with free orange juice and baskets of bread rolls, but anything other than that is extra that must be purchased. But really, I'm splitting hairs here. Out of a trip of 6 days with a large family, this was an extremely pleasant stay. I will be staying here again in the future.
