The WiFi is weak as you get further from the main lobby. Half of the hotel is being renovated so it does feel vacant. Nice pool, clean room and a good guy at the front desk. All of this just 90 seconds from I-80.

Economical and Satisfactory

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Has all the basics you need. Clean, uncluttered.
Cons: Go completely non-smoking. There was an old stale odor of smoke in our room.
Location: Stuhr Pioneer Museum, Morman Island recreation area, Tommy's restaurant, T-Bone Steak house restaurant.
Management did us a huge favor on eclipse weekend. We flew in from Phoenix, AZ and a friend drove in from Omaha. After the eclipse, the friend wanted to go back home to see a dying friend in hospice and they let her cancel without charging. She got to see her friend and the friend died later that night.

Should be called the UnQuality Inn

Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast, poor customer service, dirty
Upon check in and getting up to the room, we noticed that the TV wouldnt work properly so we called the Front Desk who said they'd send someone up to look at it. While we were waiting for that person to come up, we also noted that the WiFi wasnt operating either. When the person from the Front Desk made it up to our room to look at the TV, he made sure all the connections were correct, and then said that the Cable/Internet service has been down for a while, and they have not gotten an ETA for service to be restored. We went to the front desk to see what our options were to pass time, and they said they didnt have any suggestions. We asked to be Comp'd free drinks in the lounge until the Cable/Internet service was restored and were told we could have 1 free drink. The next morning all of us in the room woke up coughing/sneezing terribly, I called the front desk to ask if the room was possibly a "smoking" room and was told that it was indeed a smoking room. We werent advised of that when checking in, as we'd surely not accept it. I asked to be moved to a non-smoking room for the remainder of our stay, and was told they would see what they can do. I called back 2 hours later because I hadnt heard back from them, and they told me they were waiting for the GM to come in later in the day to see if they can assign us another room. I couldnt believe that they would make guests wait 3+ hours to be assigned a new room, or be advised that they were waiting for more info. I advised them that I wanted to cancel the remaining nights on my stay, and that we will be checking out immediatly. We ended up going down the road to the Comfort Inn in Hastings, NE where the service was phenominal, and the hotel was in much better shape.

NOT the Quality Choice hotel we are used to

Our luck seems to have ran out with this one. The first morning we encountered a broken coffee maker. After contacting the front desk another one was delivered to our door. Although the lid on the replacement was broken...we improvised. There's not the usual comp breakfast...only a over priced restaurant. Later the same day we returned at 3:30 pm only to find that no effort was made to clean our room. When I called the front desk I was informed that "they are still cleaning rooms". We let it go because we figured they probably were busy with a wedding also being held at the site. We left to be with family and friends and arrived back at 11 pm only to find that our room was never cleaned. I contacted the front desk and told the clerk about the situation which in return all that was given was an apology...no offer to bring us fresh towels, coffee for the coffee pot, bathroom amenities, etc. Five minutes later the night manager called our room back and apologized, offered to take $* off the room for the night. Fresh towels, coffee, etc were sent only when we asked for them. Today I get transaction alerts from my credit card company stating that this hotel has not only charged me 3 times for what was supposed to be a Reward night plus one night paid, but now they have charged me an amount (all 3 times) that is NOT the $* amount agreed upon after the offer of taking $* off the bill. I called again only to get more confusion by a clerk who admitted that she didn't know what was going on and a comment of "let us call you back in about 15 minutes". I'm still waiting.

Holiday Inn, Grand island 281 & I80

The room was good enough and was clean. The food was so expensive which is offered free at some of the other hotels. The customer service was kind of ok.
