The Hotel Rapids is actually an older motel that the owner has made a valiant effort to update to be hip and modern. It is very clean and friendly-staffed. The motel advertises a "Free cooked-to-order breakfast" You are actually presented with a $10 breakfast voucher which is included with the room charge. Breakfast is a small pre-set hipster menu. The majority of the breakfast items are more than $10. I would stay here again but just be wary of this.

Hotel Rapids is in need of a renovation and updating. The people at the hotel were friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome and valued.

It wasn't bad. They did let me check in early. I didn't notice until when I was checking out that the smoke detector didn't have a battery. The door was a little drafty. could see daylight all around the door. Bathroom had no heat other than from the room do tile was a little cold to step on.

The updates in our room was nice- size of the rooms were great. The ice machine was in an accurate place & brekfast was not enough room. Wish there was a pool. Close to a busy road noisy, heard alot of traffic.

Clean, Comfortable, Economical & Convenient

We were looking for these values in GR. We viewed poor reviews from several months before but the owner had responded with an apology and indicating his intent to correct. A more recent review indicated improvements were done. We decided to take a chance and we're pleased we did. It's not a 4 star hotel but well worth the price.

Comfort and Convenience with a Reasonable Price

We spent a night in one of the recently renovated rooms this past weekend and we really enjoyed our stay! The renovations have been very tastefully done and we found the room to be clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy and we all slept really well. The staff was attentive and friendly. I also saw a few of the other rooms that are in the process of being renovated. The style and comfort is just right. The prices are very resonable in comparison to other accommodations in the area too! We have family who lives in the area and we have stayed at a number of the hotels and motels nearby over the past few years, in both te higher end and budget price ranges. I have never liked a hotel in this area well enough to take the time to write a review until now. Going forward, this is the first place I will check for an available room when we're planning a trip to Grand Rapids. We are very happy with the accommodations we got for the price. We look forward to coming back for another visit and we will spread the word about Hotel Rapids!
