We had a river view room, which was the best thing about the stay. The shower, sink and toilet was clean along with the bedding. When we searched the bed for bed bugs (which we do at every hotel) there were crumbs on the mattress, but thankfully no signs of bugs. The lighting in our room was dim and the walls were dingy around doors and light switches. You can tell trim and windows have been painted over multiple times and the bathroom door was all chipped up at the bottom. I personally felt uncomfortable and would not stay here again. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel based on the reviews, but it was also closed early (before 8:00pm) on the day we checked in.

nothing , parking two block way at Church , not willing to help you with baggge , only to say WERE SORRY !!!! ould even change our money so we could wh some clothes !!!! SUCKS!!!!!

Great location downtown on the river

Pros: The bar staff, menu, and location in the hotel. The location of the hotel. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Update the rooms.
Location: It is directly across the river from the castle, great river walk directly out of the front door. It is also very close to some great dining/shopping.
Upon arrival and check in, we were informed there was no parking for the hotel so we had to search for paid parking for the night. The view of Castle Inverness was amazing from the front of the hotel and there is a great river walk right in front of the hotel. The location was amazing. The hotel rooms could really use some updating, but they were clean and comfortable. The only complaint about the room was we left the window open for fresh air and were woke early in the morning by the hotel cook staff out in the courtyard we faced yelling and laughing. It woke us way too early. Breakfast was good. The server staff were pleasant and helpful. The bartenders were amazing! They were personable, helpful about the area, and gave great suggestions about touring Scotland and Scottish life!

Great location but lacking in other areas

Pros: The location and view, view, view.
Cons: Included English Breakfast and attitude of service workers in the back restaurant.
The location of this hotel is excellent - right across from the canal from Inverness Castle. The view from the front bar is amazing at night with the castle lit up, and the bar has a nice selection of beverages and decent pub food. The room was comfortable enough - nothing fancy. We backed up to the back alley so had to hear garbage collection quite early one morning. Our biggest complaint is the included breakfast. Apparently this hotel caters to large bus groups, so entering the breakfast buffet room (a different area than the front bar I mentioned earlier), they did not seem prepared to handle a group of two. Our table the first morning was quite dirty, and when I asked to be moved, I got an attitude and excuses - a simple apology and new table would have sufficed. The food had sat out quite a while on the buffet and we must have come in after a large group with selections not being replenished.

Terrible Hotel - Nothing "Bespoke" Here

Pros: Absolutely Nothing, this was the worst hotel experience ever
Cons: This hotel needs significant renovation to bring it to the basic level of acceptable. Carpets need cleaning, walls need paint, replace furniture.
Location: location near the castle
We toured Scotland and Ireland for 21 days and luckily this hotel was the only low point of our vacation. Don't be deceived but the lovely photos and the nice views. It is definitely not worth the bother to stay in a hotel that has not been properly maintained for some 20 years. We were fortunate to have a room on the front of the hotel facing the castle, but that is where the fortune ended. The corridor and room walls and carpets were generally dirty and in disrepair, the bathroom was a disaster with mold in the grout, and the furniture looked like it belonged at a flea market. All for $230 per night. Immediately upon arrival and after the shock had passed, we started a desperate search for another hotel in Inverness in an attempt to leave immediately. Unfortunately everything was booked. I went to the desk and requested a change of the room. He offered another room next door, which I examined and found to be exactly the same as the room we were in. I notified the front desk clerk that we would be departing immediately in the morning. He was genuinely apologetic and embarrassed. The following morning the same clerk was still on duty, and was quick to refund our second night as we departed this hotel. In over 23 years of traveling with my spouse in many different cities around the world, we could not recall a worse experience.
