Henry's Fork Riverside Retreat

Coming soon. Trout fishing cabin at Henry's Fork. 4.6 wooded acres, treasured family fly fishing retreat on the world famous Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, small cabin built in 1978. Just 1400 square feet, on 4.6 private wooded acres of lodgepole pine, and wild flowers. Amazing river views from the wall of windows facing east to the river, and from the main level and east bedroom decks. River access, the access path is north of the cabin 50 feet. The path to the river is about 200 feet long. Fly fishing from the banks or in the river (waist deep most spots) just 200 feet from the cabin. New floors, new carpet, new natural stone fireplace surround. Bathrooms have updated shower surround and cabinets. New drywall in main living area. We enjoy hosting guests who respect the simple peace and quiet of the setting at Henry's Fork as much as we do. Three bedrooms have queen mattresses, two are Serta Perfect Sleepers with memory foam toppers, the third is a Serta icomfort with a memory foam topper. Twin bunk bed in the fourth bedroom. Bear proof garbage bins provided. Please keep all trash, especially scented items or food related, in the bear proof garbage bins provided, away from the cabin. Do not leave food wrappers or scented items outside unattended. Please read full bathroom descriptions and see photos before booking. Main level bath has full size tub and shower, standard size. We have based nightly rates on only one tub/shower because upstairs bathroom shower head is low, best for children's baths (small tub) or seated showers. On our acrage there is also one two person Canoe and three kayaks (singles, two adult, one child size) For the best learning experience and expert knowledge, hire a guide. Fly fishing guides and fly shops in the Island Park area have a long reputation of friendly service and exceptional knowledge. . . Fully equipped kitchen (bring your own food). Dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Propane grill. New circle sawn Douglas fir floors with high quality German finish designed to look like bare wood and preserve and protect the wood's natural rustic texture and beauty. Please leave shoes on the rug provided at the door. We had a problem with a guest accidentally opening the old small chimney door. We sealed the old chimney door, converted to propane, and disinfected carefully. Then professionally cleaned. Has been disinfected and cleaned several times since then. Please make sure doors are not left open, store food carefully and clean up spills immediately. If you have disabled or wheel chair dependent in your group, or if you struggle at all with stairs, please be aware that there are stairs built in the 70s, (old OSHA standards for rise and run) There are two bedrooms on the main level.
Surrounded by geological sites and pristine wooded river frontage. . . . Yellowstone is just 45 minutes away, yet only 20 minutes to Dave's Jubilee, Ashton's fully stocked full service grocery store, to the south, and Ashton's 511 Main for amazing salads and sandwiches, or stop at Robin's Roost (now expanded to a full grocery store and renamed Sam Patch Co. Grocery and Sundries) for groceries and household items, to the north on the way to Yellowstone. World class dining and fly fishing expertise within walking/biking distance at Henry's Fork Lodge, fine dining just a ten minute walk up the road (by land). A drive along Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, to see Upper Mesa Falls, is breathtaking (off highway 20, just ten minutes north.) Also close by, Mac's Inn at Big Springs (remember to visit Jonny Sack's cabin on the spring) kayak, canoe, paddle board, raft rentals with a shuttle included; The Parlor (New York style Pizza and Icecream), Mac's Inn Playhouse (Yellowstone Playhouse at Island Park), Harriman State Park trail system, Island Park trail system, Island Park reservoir, Henry's Lake, all close by. To the south, off of Highway 20, are the St Anthony Sand Dunes and also further south is Yellowstone Bear World. A rare experience, to safely see grizzly, black bear, from inside your vehicle. Also kayak and boat rentals available close by in both Island Park and in Ashton. Locals enjoy Frost Top, classic drive in, 20 minute drive south, classic drive in menu and huckleberry shakes. When you go to Yellowstone don't forget to spend some time in West Yellowstone, the Grizzly and Wolf discovery center, Yellowstone Park Zipline, Playmill theater, the Imax, or try whitewater rafting on the Gallatin. So much to explore you will want to come back again soon. . . Enjoy the peace and quiet of 4.6 private acres at a world renowned destination for trout fishing. Updated photos to follow. No smoking, no pets. Limit is 7 adults, 8 guests total, and is strictly enforced. No parties, no events. Quiet fly fishing retreat. Peaceful getaway
We LOVED our stay in Idaho on the river. Linda was an amazing host, providing plenty of necessities at the cabin as well as advice on places to hike, tour, and where to watch fireworks! I highly recommend this cabin and would return to her location any chance we get!

Great house
This house was great had lots of room to move. We loved watching the marmets and the chipmunks. We also love sitting and watching out the big windows at the river and on the other side of the river. This house was very clean and well taking care of. We had a family emergency and was later getting to the house. She had us some jam and syrup wait for us. She was so kind to check up on us.

Beautiful, pristine setting on a trout rich river. Wildlife to include small and large mammals and birds were in abundance. Owner was incredibly helpful and gracious! Hope to come back!

fishing henry' fork
great location for fishing the Henry' Fork. The view over the River is great. Some of us caught trout in the river below the house. A little bit of climb to get down to the river. Current is fast, but it is wadeable for kids over 16. House is fine. Great views. We spent most of our time in Sept out fishing though. We had good weather the entire week. Just one day of rain. It was a great trip for me and 4 of my grandsons

Great location
My family and I had a great stay here. Loved the seclusion, and being able to access the river so easily. The house was clean and stocked with anything we could possibly need. The centralized location made our trips to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Mesa Falls very easy. Linda answered any questions we had very quickly. Hoping this place is available on our next trip! I highly recommend!

Be clear on status of upstairs shower and bathroom description. toilet barely usable , shower not. Same with tv/wifi. All barley functional. Overpriced compared to comparable accommodations nearby and questionable fees on final bill. Additional charges? Admin fee? Cleaning fee? Service fee? All in addition to $$$.$$/ night. Felt pressured to have unit cleaned prior to checkout while already being charged for cleaning. Very nice location above the river.
