Travel with family. Room was small. It was a smoking room. Breakfast was supposed to be available, but it did not happen. No voucher to eat somewhere else or alternative to the issue.

Do not waste your money

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Not welcoming staff, floors or bedding need to be replaced because of smell, non-smoking rooms to smoking rooms
Location: close to Black Canyon
After reading mixed reviews about this hotel, we both thought the place would be fine. However, I wish that we had booked another place. After getting to the hotel in the night, we called the front desk to be let in, and a woman unlocked the door without opening it for us or saying hello. After giving us the key we went to our room (non-smoking) and all the rooms around us had ash trays outside, somebody was smoking outside there room with the door open, and there was an ABSURDLY strong smoke smell in the room (so bad we almost booked another hotel due to lung issues). The breakfast was not up to par, and was really just tons of sugary doughnuts, waffles, and cheap undrinkable coffee and the staff on duty came out in pajamas with the TV blaring and lights off in the lobby without saying a word to us. I really thought that other reviews were hyberbolized ,and the time taken by management to reply to them was a good sign, but unless you really don't care about the bed you sleep in, do not waste your money.

Clean rooms

Overall it wasn't bad today. We didn't go out of their way to help but to be fair I just spent the night and left

Nice clean and updated value hotel

originally we booked another budget hotel in town. We asked for a refund immediately after seeing the room. We drove about a mile or two up the road and stopped in to see if there was vacancy. Luckily, there was! The lady at the desk was so pleasant and helpful. We booked online to save $8 and she was happy to accommodate us. The room was clean and updated including a mini fridge and microwave with a large flat screen TV. We had trouble connecting to wifi, but my husband went down to the front desk and suggested that she restart the router. She happily obliged and we were connected in an instant ! For $13 more than our original booking at another hotel, we're happy that we switched our accommodations for the night and would highly recommend this Rodeway Inn
