For about 16 years, anytime I traveled anywhere, I was forced to stay in LaQuinta's because they were the only dog-friendly hotel at the time. My dog passed last year, and when my husband and I had to go out of town for a wedding, I was determined to stay somewhere "nicer". Jokes on me. If I had booked a refundable rate, I would have cancelled my stay with the Hampton Inn and went to the LaQuinta. Our mattress was so hard, it was just a tad above sleeping on the floor. We tossed and turned all night, trying to get comfortable, to no avail. The next morning, I asked the front desk for an extra comforter to use as padding, but was given a thin blanket... Besides the horribly uncomfortable mattress, everything else was ok. I don't fault an establishment for being a little old, and as such, having things like broken tiles in the bathroom, or stains on the ceiling. The lobby, breakfast area, and room were clean. But, sleep is everything, and the mattress didn't cut it.
