There were 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids ages 12, 10 and 4) who stayed at SandyPort June 2018. First - location - it is a really nice garden style lay-out about 10 minutes from the airport and about 20 minutes from downtown Nassau (in no traffic). It is much quieter than Atlantis, Baha Mar and those other big name hotels. We loved coming back to the hotel after a day out doing excursions. You can get to the public beach (again - very quiet and not crowded at all) very easily - it's a few minutes walk along the canal. We found it very easy to take the local bus to get to other parts of the island. Second - the hotel. The rooms were very nice and bright, very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a meal. There is a grocery store about a10 minute walk away which was very convenient. The hotel has one pool with s mall slides, which my kids enjoyed. The ping pong table looked a little old and we couldn't find the ball to play. I think there was a volleyball net as well, but we didn't use. The grounds of the hotel are ok, they probably could be a little better maintained, but I would take quiet/less tourists over manicured gardens any day! Third - hotel staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Lady Sarah, who helps you organize excursions, is a gem and very knowledgeable. Desiree at the front desk is also very nice. All in all, we had a great time and would stay there again. Some activities we did: Ardastra Gardens, Blue Lagoon dolphin encounter, Atlantis.

Great place to stay.

Pros: Internet. Swimming pool. Room.
Cons: Needs new luggage carts.
The staff was very accommodating and very nice. Top notch service with a smile. The internet was high quality. The property was beautiful, my kids loved the swimming pools and the water slides. The associated restaurant is a must visit.

Disappointed in the Accomodations

Pros: Staff was courteous.
Cons: Room accommodations.
Location: Not much to do at the resort.
We had seen some positive reviews and booked our stay at the Sandyport. We were surprised to see the dated housing and the small pools. The beach seemed small and had a lot of seaweed. To management's credit, they sent out a couple workers to the beach to clean it up when we mentioned the conditions there. There was only one restaurant on site and it was pricey. We had trouble getting warm water for our shower. The staff was courteous, but we were disappointed in the accommodations.

Very expensive for what it was

Pros: The staff were sweet.
Cons: The price, the decor, the internet connections, the bathrooms, the comfort of the bed and linens.
Location: I like Cable Beach, it's a tad out of the way and a little more low key.
The fan was loud, the room marginal, the TV didn't turn on, the view poor, the decor marginal even by Bahamian standards.

not a good place to stay

This complex is poorly maintained , rooms had cockroaches … We even seen rats walking around the pool and the bar were food was served at night.. water is not drinkable (you have to buy it for 2 dollars a gallon) and you have no WI FI included nor breakfast This place is cheap motel style place oversold by photography I would not recommend this place , or stay there again

Not being maaintained properly

This resort has potential but they are not maintaining the facilities well. Peeling paint on the wooden bridge walkway, rusty sink drains, sloppy painting, hot water failures, beaches not clean, pool dirty, water stands everywhere because of uneven surfaces.

The grounds and view is beautiful, this is a quiet place. The bus takes you into town for nightlife, they stop running at 6:00pm,call a taxi for the return trip.We had a kitchen, dishwasher, refrigerater and sofa bed.Biggest problem maintenance sofa broke, staff gave us connecting room, complementary.Microwave broke given a small replacement.Staff did everything to try and compensate, furniture was original since 1995 construction. The pool nice design poor filtration, and pool slide water flows through a garden hose.We went to ministry of tourism to lodge a complaint they sent an inspector from hotel licensing, awaiting his report.Tried to contact the owner whose office is at the entrance of the resort, they ignored us.The place has potential but no money being put into the place.Front desk was friendly, and accommidating as they had the power to be.Sometimes the power went out and the water pressure was low to none,we hear thats common in the bahamas. The kitchen dishes pots, pans etc
