This is a small hotel located in an incredible location. Central to all transportation, and two blocks from the popular tourist spots Chelsea Market and the Highline, surrounded by restaurants and bakeries. An easy walk to local shopping, etc. I booked this hotel for out of town guests and they were really happy with their stay. Be advised that this is a walk-up building - no elevator - so if you have physical limitations, you will want to request a low floor (there are five floors). Also, the amenities are very basic (light breakfast included). The hotel was very clean and comfortable (and my guests tell me, quiet!). They were very pleased with their stay.

The location is great but our room was not clean! The carpet and tile floors were old and dirty. I don’t mind small rooms and i understand this is NYC and hotels are expensive but mold in the shower is not ok under any circumstances. Even the designated area for eating breakfast was dirty. This place badly needs a facelift and please invest in a steam tile and floor cleaner or just get in there with some elbow grease!! Yuck!! Thumbs down!

Chelsea Pines Inn

Pros: See above.
Location: See above. Chelsea Market and the High Line were within walking distance and a must see.
We made our reservation on-line through Travelocity based on the pictures and information on the web site. Since this wasn't a chain hotel we trusted that it would be as advertised. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Chelsea Pines Inn better than we hoped for. The staff (shout out to Sean) was probably the best part, so friendly and helpful no matter the time of day. The inn was unique and not cookie cutter like chain hotels. The rooms all had a movie star theme (ours was Debbie Reynolds) with posters on the walls. The inn is in an older building giving it character, but it is well maintained and clean. The included breakfast was plentiful and included a nice variety of breakfast items to choose from (including fresh made quick bread which was different every day). It was very conveniently located less than a block from a subway station. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would stay there again on my next visit to NYC.

Great location and great price!

I had a work meeting early on a Friday morning in Chelsea only 3 blocks from this hotel (which I picked due to location and price). It was a small NYC hotel that is a walk up. My room was on the 3rd floor and cute and cozy. Breakfast was a nice continental breakfast of yogurt, bagels, pastries, etc in the morning with tea,coffee, espresso available. Location was great, walkable to Chelsea Market and tons of shopping. Plus the ACE line subway stop is less than 1 block away so getting to the hotel is incredibly convenient. I would definitely stay here again if visiting NYC, the location was great and the price was awesome!
