The location, very convenient off the highway or subway system. I had a terrible experience with the valet. It took 3 hours for them to pull my car around. There was no sense of urgency, as this was the day I was checking out and heading back to Boston. Based on my experience I will never stay at Hotel Hugo again, even if they gave me a free room to come back, never ever again will I set foot in this hotel.

Great hotel, excellent staff, 3 blocks away from subway entrance. Hotel and bar are geared to a hip, younger crowd but we 50+ aged guests still felt welcome. SoHo is very quiet at night so if you’re looking for activity surrounding the hotel, it’s hard to find. Everyone in our group of 7 agreed we would happily stay there again.

I would definitely recommend the Gild Hall for a stay in NYC. Very attentive staff, nice room and convenience of bar and restaurant.

Stylish boutique hotel in Soho

Location: Close to Tribeca. Close to Hudson Park.
Super stylish room overlooking the Hudson River. Everything was top notch, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was a bit out of the way of the places we were going, so we ended up doing a lot of walking, which you expect in New York anyhow. Easy five-minute walk to Greenwich Village. When we needed a ride, Uber was there within 30 seconds, taxis weren't far behind. Close to subway. Judging by the people in the elevators and the lobby, the rooftop bar is the place to be. Only downside is that I like a firm pillow, and theirs were pretty squishy. I was expecting the room to be really small, as they are in some boutique hotels, but we had 2 double beds and it was plenty spacious.
